Well hello Caden Banks! My super duper new book boyfriend. Tijan writes the most gorgeous alpha males that I've had the good fortune to date (in my head), and yes Caden is another one, and in the game of snog, marry, avoid, he's a definite marry! Then we have Summer Stolz, who happens to have a major crush on her stepbrother (Caden's frat brother), Kevin, who is in a relationship with Caden's real life brother's girlfriend. Yep that's a bit messed up I know, but Kevin is not a nice guy, shame Summer doesn't realise that sooner. This book, beautifully written in Summer's POV (we do get to see a few small chapters of Caden's POV towards the end), is a coming of age college romance, with some added drama added in. As an avid fan of everything Tijan, this book did not disappoint, with some truly emotional scenes, I was drawn in to each character's story. Full five stars.

Another amazing book. I love Tijan books. They are a one click buy every time. This book had everything. The heroine for me is actually my favourite of all her female characters in all her books. Whilst they are always strong, resilient young women, Summer is hilarious. Which as a fan is different. I defy anyone who does not love her. I am still smiling, she is a fabulous character. I hope there will be more from North River University.

Thank you so much Tijan. This book was just what I needed. It had lots of humour, love and sass. They reminded me a little of our Fallen Crest duo, but totally had their own uniqueness too. I've devoured this in one day, so I'm kind of sad it's finished.

I'm half way with this book and needed to take a break, I might come back and change this review once I've finished it, whenever that will be. My main problem with this book is the immaturity. I know summer is fresh from high school and into college but the dialogue internal as well as external is excruciating. Let's not get into the fact how she seems a doormat and even making friends with doormats aka Avery. The guys all seem douchey and feminine with their whining aka Kevin and Marcus. Caden I'm not sure yet he seems ok but his meant to be this bad ass I'm still waiting to see just how much. I really hope Summer wins me over soon coz all I'm getting now is a petulant child in high school who fancies boys that don't fancy her this makes stupid decisions and says stupid stuff.

l loved the Fallen Crest series by this author so I was anticipating another great read with this book but sadly I was disappointed. There was just no depth to this story and Summer, the main character, was so irritating with her stupid banter although it was called 'quirky'! Plus half the time I couldn't understand what she was talking about. The 5 main characters are Summer, Caden, Kevin, Marcus and Avery and it basically revolves around them all. Kevin is Summer's step brother but they are not actually related as her dad is married to his mum so they have sex one night together and then Kevin goes back to ignoring her and dating lots of other girls leaving Summer heartbroken as she thinks Kevin is the one for her. She is also not dealing very well with the death of her mother. But she comes across as very weak and cannot seem to make her mind up about anything. Then Summer meets Caden who is the brother of Marcus who is dating Avery who is Summer's best friend - are you following me so far?? They start out as friends but eventually the predictable happens and they get together but not without problems. Also Caden and Marcus have a brother called Colton who also has issues. Avery is another character that totally irritates me in this book as Marcus breaks up with her and a couple of months later starts dating one of her friends, then when he gets dumped she takes him back and makes it far too easy for him. I found it all a rather childish meaningless book and not at all like the same passion and excitement with the characters in the Fallen Crest series.

I do love Tijans books, I can never put them down, Caden, well he's all man, the weight of the world on his young shoulders, but he holds his head high and takes what life has thrown at him.
Summer infuriated me at the start, she appeared a naive fool, but she soon learnt who the real man was, she found love and even when he forces distance, she'll never let go.
Fab read highly recommended

Tijan writes like she's describing a movie. He got up and sat there. He moved over and sat there. She turned round and walked over there .... etc. It gets tedious very quickly. We all get told at school to show don't tell when writing stories and now there are best selling authors who've ignored this advice. It depresses me.
