Valentin Tomberg was born, in 1900, in St. Petersburg in imperial Russia, lived in the Baltic states, Holland and Nazi Germany (where he completed his treatise on laws during WW2) and finally moved to England, dying, however, in 1973 in Majorca. Often rumoured to be the present Bodhisattva, who will attain the status of Maitreya Buddha around 3000 AD, Tomberg drafted this work as part of a trilogy encompassing the Old Testament, New Testament and (often incorrectly thought of as part of the New Testament) Revelation of St. John. The content is a deep exploration of the New Testament from a Christian occultic point of view, using also "Rudolf Steiner's" anthroposophy as an esoteric starting point. Anyone interested in the reality behind the miracles and events of the New Testament need look no further, at least initially.

This work was part of a trilogy, with the Old testament and Apocalypse (fragment) studies. Tomberg, whom some say was the present Bodhissattva who will eventually in c.1,000 years become the Maitreya Buddha, was born in Russia and lived in Estonia, Holland, Germany and elsewhere, later in the UK, but died in Majorca. He is thought to be one of the greatest public esotericists, albeit not known to the public at large.
