than this wonderful recording by the Kiev Chamber Choir, originally released in Poland in 1996.
I am far from being a religious soul but find myself unaccountably very moved by this collection.
There truly are some beautiful pieces here. Not least of all the ensemble's sublime performance
of Sergei Rachmaninov's composition 'To Thee We Sing', surely one of the loveliest examples of
sacred music in The Listening World. So too their luminous rendition of 'The Cherubimic Hymn' by
Alexander Gretchaninov. So much exquisite music which, before this, was totally unknown to me!
Whether you happen to be a believer or not I recommend this anthology wholeheartedly.
It really is a joyful thing!
