Anne Bronte is criminally under-rated, she deserves to emerge from the shadows of her sisters Emily and Charlotte, and this book does just that. It's over 50 years old now, so it's about time we had a new biography of this incredible woman and incredible writer.

Anyone interested in the Brontes need to read Winifred Gerin's books about them. Each member has thier own bio. While mostly not on today's library shelves or in book stores because of thier age, the Bronte enthusiast needs to seek these books out via used books outlets and thanks to such sites as Amazon, they can

Gerin focuses on Anne Bronte , the youngest and the "forgotten Bronte" and finds gold. One learns a great deal about her AND the rest of the family. Each of the Gerin Bronte bios add to the whole.

Just about every book about the Brontes published since Gerin's has hers listed in thier bibliography. There are very good reasons why

The reserch , psychological insites and the heart found in these books is amazing. Don't let the fact these books are 50-60 years old make you pass them by.
