There are a couple of problems though.
1. the flap on the front holds the case closed snugly but it's hard to get a grip on to open it. I think the fabric on the edge of the small flap will split on the end with long term use. The magnet inside should be a bit smaller than the flap so you can easily slide your finger behind the flap to open it rather than dig your nail into the edge to open it.
2. a more serious problem is that the menu button on the tab 3 is slightly proud of the screen and when the case is closed any pressure on the front of the case will make it touch the menu button and wake the tablet up. a few times i've found the battery empty since the case has been in my bag and the menu button has been pressed for hours There should be something in the inside of the case to keep it away from the menu button. I fixed mine by sticking a small foam dot (the kind used to stop furniture scratching wooden floors) on the inside of the case, just above where the menu button is.
However, saying that, there are issues with this particular case which can be somewhat annoying:
Firstly, if you were to hold the case vertically, like you would a book, and put slightest amount of pressure on the top-left hand side, the screen switches itself off and the device goes into standby. I have read that others have had this particular issue also. Upon receiving a replacement today, I can confirm that this still happens with this particular case and have added an image showing the model number. If you have this exact same model, then chances are you will experience this problem.
Secondly, sometimes the case does not grip the base when you try and sit it an angle and simply falls down. Again, it's an annoyance when you want it free-standing and it stubbornly collapses.
Customer services have been brilliant so far and are still working with me on solving the issue as per my satisfaction, but judging from the replacement I requested 8 months after after my initial purchase, if they still haven't ironed these issues yet, I honestly doubt they ever will.
Synthetic Leather is a bit imaginative.....It's plastic, end of story, very serviceable though.
Great that closing the case shuts down the tablet to standby.
the case fits very well, does not add too much in the way of bulk and looks great. I would certainly not describe the material as synthetic leather but I am not sure what you would call it. Anyway, I think it looks and feels great whatever it is!
All of the gaps in the case are in the right place for you camera, sim card and volume buttons and you can still access the charging point when the case is closed which seems to be a key thing for some people.
The stand works well and offers a range of angles and all in all I'd say it was a great case.
the only minor downside worth pointing out is that as the case is pretty slimline it does not look as though it gives as much protection as some of the bulkier cases although that could be just a visual thing. If you have kids or like to throw your tablet on the floor every now and again then I'd probably get a bulkier case with more padding but if you want something that is smart, slimline and works well for a great price then I don't think you will find anything better than this case!
-The powerful magnet making it hard to open
-The front cover depressing the raised home button sleep mode being activated when closed
-The cover putting the tablet to sleep when folded back
However mine arrived today it appears they have revised the design:
-The magnet is perfect, it holds the case closed securely but is easy to remove and open.
-The front cover now have a recessed section to accommodate the home button and prevent it being depressed when closed.
-The less powerful magnet has also solved the issue of it activating the sleep mode when folded back in the open position.
I would also say the material used is perfect, giving the right amount of grip but not attracting dirt and dust. IT also isn't trying to pretend its leather which many others do badly.
I'd recommend this case to anyone who wants minimal bulk but a good amount of protect for their tablet, whilst looking very professional.

Great case, had it a couple of years now and still look and work fine. One small point, needs a recess over the button, as it's easy to activate it when shut.Published 15 months ago by Surefire
