Update: Anker Direct refunded my original order AND sent me a new cable. The new cable, though still quite thin, does not have any connection problems. Faith restored. Thanks Anker.

The Anker C-C cable is TERRIBLE. I ordered a C-A at the same time, and the quality is much better. The C-C has a much thinner cable, and uses a different connectors, which don't make a reliable connection - the kind of thing I'd expect from a 99p cable mailed from Hong Kong.

Having bought an alternative USB-C Cable that caused my HP Pro Tablet 608 to brown out as soon as connected I've switched only to Anker as they are verified to have the right resistors. This works perfectly with the 608 to charge it off a Ravpower external USB-C battery pack, and also with my Lumia 950XL. Had the same success with their USB-C to USB-A Cable

A Google engineer has been reviewing cables in the States and Anker is one of the brands easily available here too. Also the cables are nice and thin and flexible (I think others have been trying to make the cables pointlessly thick to show "quality" but that is no use when the resistors are incorrect). I didn't expect to see issues on C to C cables; just C to A cables but as mentioned I have.

The cable feels well made and looks like a quality item. I have been using it for charging (rather than data transfer) for a couple of weeks and performance has been just as good as the original cable.

I wish Anker would release a 2 metre version as that would be useful too, and I would definitely buy one.

Overall this cable comes highly recommended.
