What have I just read? I can't even get my head around this one, doubt I ever will.
My mind is still somewhere in outta space or something, because it's certainly not on this planet right now.
Also let me tell you It was scorching hot *fans self*
Beard really does live up to the Animal in him. Damn the man is insatiable.
This story just keeps you on you toes, who can you trust when everyone has secrets.
Just when you think you've figured it out... BAM you haven't.
It's delicious dark depravity at its finest.
I could not put this one down. It draws you in from the first page and keeps you prisoner until the last.
That ending was seriously good. I did not see it coming
Arrrggghhh!! I'm speechless.
Very crafty Marni, what have you got up your sleeve?
I'm already desperate to find out.
“Get out all those tears,” I whispered through the bars, “because pretty soon all you’re going to have is screams.”
For such a seemingly sweet and innocent author Marni Mann certainly has a lot “more colourful personas” hidden within and with this spin off from the Prisoned book those mother f***ers come out to play. I rarely swear in reviews, but this book…this book deserves every single expletive that will probably pour from my fingers.
“Now, there was no turning back.
And there was no more wishing.
Wishes died when my breathing had slowed.
But the wants lived.”
Knowing Beard from Prisoned I always knew this book was going to be dark and while Marni Mann could have gone a lot darker what she delivered was way more than expected. Animal has two stories running parallel with one and other and you know at some point that those stories will converge. It is this anticipation and that constant fear of woe and dread that keeps you frantically turning those pages as the foreboding only intensifies and leads you into a story where nothing is as it seems, no-one is as they seem.
“…You can’t leave a wound bandaged forever. You need to unwrap it and air it out every so often. Because you know what can happen?”
“Yeah, I know. It can turn you into a prison guard where you torture people for a living. But wouldn’t you say it’s a little too late for that? I already kill, and I already effing torture. So, it looks like my wound isn’t just infected, it’s effing gangrene.Read more ›
Well let's say that the cover is the first thing that drew me to this book, the blurb not giving a lot away but sounded intriguing and thought it was a good way to start my journey with a new to me author and seriously I'm sat here utterly speechless, flooded with so many emotions I'm not sure we're to even start in processing them.
This book will physically grab hold of you drawing you into the dark and twisted and omg the sadistic world that is Animal. If you think you can escape the clutches this book has over you, you are sooooo wrong.
I have found my self many times through this book trying to put it down and saying I'm not reading anymore this isn't really for me, I'm so confused but yet you just keep going back and reading just a little bit more falling further into the darkness until you can fall no further the book has got you, there is no escape, your feelings and emotions run away with you leaving you utterly speechless and just as you think you have your head around wtf is going on your smacked with a plot twist that leaves you sitting there just staring at your kindle.
Marni has written a book that is incredibly dark and twisted and a whole lot of wtf with a major side of sadistic that will claw hold and not let go, a 5* mindfluckintastsic read.

Best part of the book is the end and leaves the reader with more questions than answers. Quite gory and long winded good idea and lots of twists and turns. Read morePublished 17 days ago by olipops
