Type 75 Mini Features
Sir Kenneth Grange
Designed by Britain's foremost product designer, Sir Kenneth Grange. "The Anglepoise is a minor miracle of balance… Balance is a quality in life that we do not value as we should.” - Sir Kenneth Grange, (1996)
Constant Tension Spring Technology
Anglepoise constant tension spring technology ensures a fantastic range of movement and perfect balance and the adjustable shade, with attractive stylised vents, can be moved into multiple positions which it faithfully holds.

The lamp is nice to look at, if you are fond of non-shining finish, and gives splendid light for all kinds of small work you can do on a desk. For more special purposes you might need the 'big sister' no 75, but for 'normal' work the 'mini' will do! It's not just a lamp for kids, and does not look like it, either!
The technical functions (moving the shadow in whatever direction and keep it in its place) are convincing.
I hope my English is not too clumsy and this review may help people to find out, whether or not this lamp might be suitable for their purpose!
It is of course just outside the return window for Amazon. Very annoying even though I got it in the Thanksgiving day sales - had I paid the full £95 I would be livid. The other Anglepoise lamps I have bought have been much better, but they were the traditional larger models.
Strictly the liability is with the supplier (Amazon not the manufacturer) under the Sale of Goods Act but Amazon seem to abrogate any responsibility for returns of faulty items outside the initial returns window (that ended 31-Jan and I am writing this on 12-Feb).
In every other respect Amazon's return policy has been fine in those few cases where I have had faulty items. I could try going direct to the manufacture but frankly it will be more cost effective to cut the sealed switch out and try to reconnect the wire myself.
So overall I question the design reliability of this item - I am guessing it is the switch unit.Read more ›
You can only use a bulb of the type supplied. Anything else upsets the balance, the major feature, of course, of an Anglepoise.
Since the supplied bulb is a 40 watt incandescent SES fitting that makes it virtually useless as a desk lamp.
Forty watts as a desk lamp? Glad I don't work in any of the Anglepoise offices!
Incandescent bulbs are being phased out in the EU, so in a few years (and Anglepose lamps last a lot longer than that) the lamp will be useless.
I've kept it as I can find a use for it, but certainly not as a desk lamp.

I've been using these desk lamps for nearly 40 years and I must say they have improved on the design of the first one I bought in 1977. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Dr Bee
Very well made and nice looking lamp. Quite a heavy base which is good. Only reason it's not a 5 star lamp for me is the tiny screw you used to hold the lamp in place to the base. Read morePublished 2 months ago by FloraMac
A mini take on the design classic. Extremely well packed and you can really tell it's not a cheap knock off.Published 2 months ago by A. Jackson
As expected, this lamp looks great and is perfectly balanced. Together with a 5.5w LED lamp (purchased separately - the unit comes with a CFL), this should last forever. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Peter Elliot
I bought this smaller version for my boyfriend as I just adore my Anglepoise. The quality really is just way ahead of the rubbish desk lamps I have bought in the past. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Frilly
