The first point I’d like to make is that not all the tracks on this lovely collection ‘work’, in that some of the artists don’t appear to been successful in their interpretations.
The second point is maybe that’s not the point, as I’m of the firm belief that ONLY Bolan could do Bolan. He was THAT special.

Diese Coverversionen alter T.Rex-Songs sind für mich als alter T.Rex-Fan, der hauptsächlich die rockigere Seite von Bolan liebt, überwiegend eine Enttäuschung. Dann höre ich mir viel lieber die Originale an. Ein Teil der Songs wurde richtig verhunzt und hat sich viel zu weit vom Original entfernt , z.B. Todd Rundgren - Planet Queen (Richtig enttäuschend dabei auch Marc Almonds Cover von "Teenage Dream"- eigentlich sonst ein recht guter Sänger). Der Großteil ist eher Mittelmaß und nur bei wenigen Songs kann man sie als gelungen bezeichnen. Bessere Cover-Neuaufnahmen sind auf der CD "Legacy" - the Music of Marc Bolan and T.Rex zu finden und zu hören.
