Yes you can surf the web and download games from the Play market but if you want to stream any sort media then think again.
On the day of purchase i downloaded SkyGo YouTube etc as you normally would on your home tablet.
Sadly my anticipation and excitement quickly disappeared when i got an error message stating 'cannot stream on rooted device'.
Now if you are like me and want all you can get from the product you buy without having to go through any process to 'unroot' your android tablet (which i have never heard of) DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT....
I have sent an email to the seller requesting urgent advise as i have no other way to contact them
I will update this review if they offer a no cost solution and if they dont I will be writing to Amazon to see if they can do anything as they are allowing a seller on their site to sell defective products..fingers crossed
For the tech head out there, I know some of you will argue saying that the previous comment is absolute rubbish, but, for what tablets are actually used for this thing does everything. Out of the box, it may have smaller built in storage, but this can be extended relatively cheaply.
If all you do is a browse the internet, checking your social media, maybe doing some casual media editing and some office work, the iRulu will do it. Now, it does lack one feature that you do get with a Samsung for example, and that's the ability to navigate through pictures or videos by flicking your hand across the screen, sadly not possible with this tablet. But you can easily get third party software so you can achieve this for free, just check out the Google Play store.
As of the time of checking out the iRulu, it was running the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System, unfortunately we couldn't tell you if you can upgrade the OS to the latest version.
All in all, for the price, this tablet is fantastic, I personally am very happy with mine.
it's hard to fault it. Does all the usual stuff, Kindle, eBay, Facebook and I added a 32gb SD card to mine so lots of other options for music, photo's and spoken word stuff. I like that I can also get radio 4 via the iPlayer. Screen can be a tad sensitive and this is only day 2 exploring this tablet but thus far all seems very good for the price. Review written with tablet.
A few days on and still happy with it.....it also seems pretty robust, dropped it today and still working fine.
