About Andrew M Sidebottom
I've been a Business Psychologist and Coach for more than 25 years, and I certainly enjoy my work. It puts me in contact with a whole range of interesting people and it tends to keep me busy. I live in East Yorkshire, UK, and I'm married with three grown-up children.
Whilst my day-to-work tends to be focused and objective, it seems I must have some sort of creative drive within me (I have published fiction in the past, under the pen-name Martin Andrews). I also like to think I have a sense of humour, and here is my first public offering of evidence. But maybe you should judge me on that!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy Team Gelding. But perhaps don't overdo it.
Remember the Team Building experiment that began in the 1950s? Well, you wouldn’t believe it… It’s finally worked. Research has proven almost conclusively that 98.7% of Work Teams are now over-performing, and almost everyone in the workplace has achieved nirvana.
While this constitutes good news for the national mood, the outlook is far bleaker for CEOs, Managing Directors, Line Managers and Supervisors. With nothing further to contribute, all current managerial personnel are redundant. Mass lay-offs begin next week. If you currently lead a team of people, your career is over. You are truly finished.
Andrew Sidebottom, real-world Business Psychologist, explains the urgent need for Team Gelding. Only by reversing the unexpected success of Motivational Theorists can we prevent the overnight extinction of Managers. In this ground-breaking introduction to the concept, he presents a brand-new suite of managerial techniques designed exclusively for the current dilemma. If you are (or expect to be) a Management Professional, you need to choose a style.
Do YOU have the qualities to be a Boss-Boss? How about an Articulartsy? An Ultra-Mav? Or one of the other heroic styles which are guaranteed to bring a team to its knees?
TEAM GELDING: It’s necessary and it’s urgent. How will YOU do it?
