Fantastic coffee maker for the price. Good quality product that makes great coffee once you have experimented a bit with the strength and amount of water required (go for double the amount of cups you want).
1.0 out of 5 starsDo not buy. Awful product and awful seller.

Didn’t work - poor build quality. Had an issue with only pumping through about 20% of the water requested. Requested a return. Seller didn’t respond. Awaiting for amazon to do an A to Z claim. Do not buy.
So there is no doubt. This makes coffee. But it doesn't get 5 stars because honestly - it is not perfect. The instructions take a bit of reinterpretation to work out that actually the amount of water passed is (or appears to be) proportional to the number you dialed in for cups. Weird but true. They tell you some water is absorbed, so add a bit more. But when you do that you can sometimes end up with water left in the tank. I'm used to a coffee maker putting all the water in the tank through. This one can cut out before it's finished. Initially I had to get it to restart 3 times for a full tank of water - how does that work then?
I rang help desk and they asked if I'd descaled it. ITS NEW - shouldn't need de-scaling. But I did that. now it behaves a bit better.
So we're quite nervous that it'll last as long as it's predecessor as it seems a bit random.
I like the timer. I like the grinder, I like that it makes good coffee. I don't like that I must guess how much extra to put in, and adding 7 cups of water and setting to 6 seems to produce 2 mugs of coffee. Go figure.
And don't try to overfill (per the instructions) For a full jug - because the water just pours out of the back through an undocumented overflow hole. So it DOESNT DELIVER a full jug (cos you can't add the extra water the instructions tell you to add!)
The coffee bean hopper doesn't hold a whole packet of beans - that's just rubbish really!
Does it work - yes Do you have to reverse engineer and get into the mindset of the manufacturer - perhaps Would I recommend it ? Maybe
I like this product and will stick with it, it works as advertised - mostly. We bought it for (a) Can work with pre-ground and good capacity controls and timer, (b) dimensions so it would fit under the worktop overhang (we failed - it's too tall). There may be other products out there for a lot more money that require much bigger worktop space - so this is truly VFM since it met our needs. Just about.
Disclaimer: I live in Scotland so very soft water here, I've never had to descale anything and clean this with Milton sterilising fluid.
Anyway, it's a great machine. 2 cups fills a normal mug, and 4 for my thermos travel cup. I set the timer during the week so I'm woken up to fresh brewed coffee. Usually use Taylors Italian Roast beans, also used Lavazza Rosso, some Pelican Rouge and Matthew Algie when I can get them. Makes really nice, consistent coffee and keeps it warm for 45 mins or so on the machine.
Only small gripe is that the watertank isn't that easy to clean, I got some mould in it (my own fault as I'd dropped a bean in there) and had to strip it down a fair bit to get in to the corners, a removable tank would be a nice future feature. A couple of times the grinder has jammed which usually means having to use a wooden kebab skewer to scrape it out from below whilst the grinder is running, as the door is only open then and can't be opened manually.
Here within 5 days this thing is brilliant, didn't think it would be quite so good. Add the beans and it takes away the hassle of grinding them. The coffee does not taste burnt at all just it's full flavour! It also it pretty hot unlike others that have made Luke warm coffee. A auto timer lets you program it to grind, brew and be ready for when you get up. On max setting for strength this is perfect for me with the beans I already love. You fill the watertank up and it makes 12 cups of coffee, not short as my previous model used to. Easyily fills my flask and thermal cup on a morning. The filter can be taken out washed and reused over and over. 2 things I don't like are. I keep mine in the corner of the kitchen and to refill the water I have to physically move the whole unit out to add more water via the lid at the back. Also the steam from the brewing goes up across the front and buttons so time will tell if this creates a malfunctioning button. I will report back if it starts playing up. Bad points- the hot plate goes off way too soon (half hour)
Makes wonderful coffee use best quality bean as and you will have a marvelous coffee aroma and great coffee. I just wish they would have used a replaceable filter for the watertank like so other machines have but you can control the grind as how course or fine you want it. And also the strength of the coffee . Fantastic machine honest.
When i ordered this product my husband told me off as he said we already had a working coffee machine and he didn't need another one. That was until he used this new one!! I received it about a fortnight ago and there has barely been a day it's not being used. My husband absolutely loves it, i know so because he proudly shows it off to our guests and has to make them coffee.
Now on to the product. It is extremely easy to use but also comes with full instructions should you need them. It's very nicely boxed and presented and includes everything you need other than the actual coffee beans. The grinder can be adjusted to what you want, as in finely ground or coarser. There is a strength selector to choose how strong you want your coffee and you can also select how many cups to make. 2 cups equal a mug. This brews up to 12 cups. You then just add beans at the top and press start. After adding water to the tank of course! Lol It feeds the beans in itself taking the amount it needs, grinds them quite quickly and surprisingly a lot quieter than my previous grinder. Once thats done it then starts to brew the coffee. The display keeps you informed of the current stage and it also beeps when the coffee is ready. This machine can also be programmed the night before to have your coffee ready when you get up in the morning or set it to be ready for when you get in from work.
This is definitely one of my better purchases, and even my husband had to agree once he had his first use of it.
