HASH(0x90900408) out of 5 stars Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? 6 Oct. 2013

This article--at 11 pages it's not a book--must have been written by the proverbial monkey locked in a room with a typewriter who eventually composed Encyclopedia Britannica. On second thought, the monkey would do better.

Want to read about the Pharos? This writer does NOT mean the lighthouse at Alexandria, but pharaohs. Want to read about a pharaoh born of incense that caused him genetic deformations? how Egypt exiled folks by decapitation? how the Nile flowered from the center of earth? that pharaohs didn't shave their heads, rather they hid their hair...

Want to find out that "The Sea Peoples were defeated because the ships were ready for the attack"? That the Sea Peoples came from "Southern Palestine"?

Cleopatra was more than just a pretty face, this author writes. "Cleopatra married three husbands over the course of her life time, including her brothers Ptolemy XIII, XIV, and Mark Anthony." Folks, Mark Antony was NOT her brother. Furthermore, "She helped the economy grow by improving trading relations." There are a number of my relations whom I'd like to trade, but alas, the author gives no details.

If Kindle books are not to be edited for factual content, English spelling, and grammar--why read them at all? The only good thing about this little jewel is the cover.

HASH(0x90f634bc) out of 5 stars Not recommended! 12 Aug. 2014

I love reading about ancient Egypt, I really do. In fact, it's the most fascinating era in history in my opinion but sorry, I really couldn't like this particular book. Not only was it too short (eleven pages!) to be called a proper book, it was also badly written and lacked a lot in the decent information department. Also I was put off by how badly edited it was and the format of the Kindle book. I wouldn't recommend reading it.
