Ron (Will Ferrell) gets terminated from his job and leaves his wife. He is offered a job from upstart GNN 24 hour news. He assembles his news team etc. etc. etc. The plot is not important. The film is fairly simple and it is more like a connection of skits and one liners than a real situation comedy. You could pretty much start watching the movie at any time and it wouldn't matter. The humor, while crude at times, was original and funny. Sure there were a few scenes I would have cut, the condom selection and racist dinner, but there were too many scenes which had me laughing out loud. Excellent support cast.

Some lines from the film:

"Bats: Chicken of the cave."
"He wanted to donate his organs before he died."
"Remember ten years from now..."
"He bottle fed and raised a shark..."

This is high caliber low brow humor. Crude and racial at times.

Parental Guide: 2 F-bombs. No nudity. Brief comical sex scene. Crude sexual talk.

Better than the reviews and PC hypocrites give it credit for. Yes some may be slightly offended by racial epiphets. But its just a bit of fun, and is not really that offensive. There has been far worse racial humour in other movies and comedy. Less zaney or wacky than the first, and the humour is basically relying on the same characters, some of which do better than others. will Ferrell keeps the movie afloat, and he co-wrote it.
Admittedly I only chuckled once, despite it having lots of gags, and is amusing, perhaps repeat viewiing is required, it could have been better I think if some of the gags were extended or taken even further perhaps. But there was restraint, and it feels a bit rushed. A better ending than the first, but still taken from the original. If you like comedy and you enjoyed the first, and like Will ferrel's humour and this socially inept but loveable character , then this is worth a go. For the price you cannot complain.

Every bit as funny as the original. Probably best to be wary of anyone who says otherwise, & possibly set kittens on them.

I found this pretty funny. I don't understand all the comments saying "the first one is amazing, the comedy in this one is rubbish" or something similar since the humour is pretty much the same

I suppose what's a little disappointing is it's too much like the first one. There are new scenes but they tell the same story underneath.

Overall: Funny, worth watching but definitely only worth renting.

AS fans of the original we all worried that in true Hollywood style the sequel would soil the greatness. We needn't have worried - it's even funnier than the first. I must have wtached this half a dozen times and it never fails to make me laugh. The extras are superb too.

Was it Ron burgundy or David seaman!,,,,,anchorman 2 is a great send up.it brings the wall to wall 24 hours no escape on tv and radio in 2015 to its knees. The truth of a small group of people who find a good story in every nook and cranny, and boy they just know that they will never be short of a audience. If you can laugh at yourself and realise what idiots we all are for sitting back.......you will love this....I did.

Not as zippy or zany as the first irreverent movie. The comedic momentum stalls - which is usually never good because the comic moments should keep going. And the fight scene I felt should've been as spontaneous and ongoing as it was in A.T.O.R.B, instead the action keeps cutting away. The r.v. scene and the crack scenes were funny though :)

As a fan of the first movie, i was expecting more of the same. But alas it was not to be. Yes, there are plenty of scenes which do make you laugh out loud. But again, there are some which make you think "why was this even considered". And not even the cameos at the end fight from many other big named stars could really make it better. I'm not saying this is a bad movie, i laughed at many of the jokes in the film. But it could have been better.
