Another of the superb anatomy of the ship series. This one stands out as little was known about the Yamato even as she sank the US werent sure what they were sinking. This makes the ultra detailled drawings even more incredible. Every single detail represented in exquisite drawings right down to cutaways of the different ammunition carried. Whether youre building a model of the ship or just interested in the Yamato, this is the ultimate reference work.

For modellers with the Tamiya 1:350 scale kit of IJN Yamato, this is the book to buy. The extraordinary detail is superbly rendered in both the choice of photographs and the clarity of the supporting drawings. It is the closest I've seen to a stand-alone reference, i.e. one which requires little if any supplement. The photographs are informative and the drawings are superbly detailed. A quality reference worthy of the term.

I bought this book because I am building a 1:200 scale model of this IJN battleship. Although more recent research highlights some differences not picked up by the author between the "as launched" and "as sunk" ship, I am amazed by the detail in this book and would recommend it to any modeller of the ship or naval warfare freak!
