Aimed at ages 5-9,my daughter was intrigued by this book. She loved the concept of the wishing tree and giggled when I first read about what the animals changed into - she found the names such as Rhino-Parra-Rog quite bizarre but hilarious. The storyline definitely kept her entertained even though she couldn't quite believe what was happening to the animals. She looked at the pictures in bemusement wondering if it could really happen!
The book is well illustrated with lots of colour pictures to keep children entertained throughout and the story is lengthy without being too long to read in one go.

We just read this story with our 6 year old daughter. We loved it!! This has gone straight to the top of the bedtime story list!! We've had loads of fun thinking up different animal combinations. Can't wait for the next story!! Apparently, they are bringing out soft toys to go with the books. We can't wait to see them. If they are anywhere as good as the book they will be great!!!

This unique jungly story takes an ingenious yet simple idea and brews up a fresh, pacy adventure that captures children's imagination and makes adults wish that this tale was around when they were small. The animal drawings are very cute and strikingly lifelike at the same time (even the fantasy ones!) and are easily among the best I've seen in a children's book. The whole package deserves classic status. Particularly good for bed-time narrators with a fondness for doing animal noises.

My sons, aged 5 and 9, really enjoyed this book. Both the text and the illustrations are pleasingly detailed and they were very delighted with the idea of the mixed up animals. We are all looking forward to future books and to seeing the soft toys they are supposed to be bringing out. It seems surprising no one has thought of this before - I think the idea of cuddly toys with interchangeable parts is a great one!

I read this story to friends' children - they were enthralled and loved the colourful illustrations. The storyline is very original and the characters appealing. The children were very amused at the idea of animals being able to swap body parts. As an adult I too enjoyed the story and the humour and admired the quality of the illustrations. The children cannot wait for the next adventure.

I read this book to my 4 year old and she immediately fell in love with world of Pogo Bogo! The illustrations are beautifully detailed and my daughter has already started drawing her own Hippocrocpuss! Looking forward to being able to buy the toys.

My children absolutely love books, my seven year old loves them that much that she tends to read atleast one a day, so I am always on the look out for new books to keep them entertained.

I was really excited to be offered the chance to read a new book from author Leith Moghli called The Anagranimals and The Wishing Tree.

This book is set in a mysterious land, in the forests and plains of Pogo Bogo.

It is where you will find lots of ordinary every day animals who want to be anything but ordinary.

Here you will see lions, lemurs, tigers, tapirs, elephants, emus, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, zebras, every kind of animal that you can imagine!!

Some of these lovely animals want to be able to do things that other animals they know can do.

You are inroduced to a mischievous gang of animals : George the giraffe, Pedro the pig, Heidi the hippo, Rocky the rhino, Ebenezer the elephant and Lancelot the lion.

One day a magical wishing tree manages to grant them a very special wish, the animals each wish for the best parts of their other favourite animals.

The story is bought to life by the amazing illustrations drawn by Ian King. These images are seen througout the book.

You can see for yourselves just how the animals wishes come true.

What I love is that the pictures seem to be more traditional looking, rather than lots of bright colours everywhere, you find yourself wanting to look at all of the pages in detail, just incase you miss something.

This book is aimed primarily at children aged five to nine years old but I think it still suitable for you to read to younger children too.
