A joy to read. Having enjoyed the other books in the Burracombe series I felt this book was a must! I already knew the characters in the story. Lillian Harry weaves a delightful tapestry, treating everyone with sensitivity and love, and bringing the joys and sorrows of these interesting people to life with a capital L. She has put Burracombe on the map for me and I wait for what comes next. I know I shall not be disappointed!

I came across Lilian Harry quite by accident, how glad I am that I did. An Heir For Burracombe, yet another 1st class read. Each book flows so neatly from one to another, it is only a pity that Ms Harry cant write them as quickly as I can read them. Looking forward to the next Burracombe story. I feel as though I know the characters personally. Well done and keep them coming. Margaret Stephenson

A young man has come to Burracombe and he may be the son of Baden Napier, who died during the war. But Hilary is not so sure, but she is sure that her life may change forever. Jennifer and Travis' lives are certainly changing. They are getting married. Luke's and Val's lives are also changing with the arrival of their child. But all changes are not for the better and some may bring new sadness.
"An Heir for Burracombe" by Lillian Harry was okay addition to the series. I have to admit that I am getting a little tired with Hilary's attitude and I keep hoping that it will change. But overall "An Heir for Burracombe" was a nice addition to the series.

Although all my favourite Burracombe characters were here, I feel this one struggled from being one of a series this was number 5-think the heir plot is a bit far fetched and it all got rather tedious. Also, the Lord of the Manor is becoming such a stereotype /reactionary that I think Lilian Harry should consider writing him out.

An Heir for Burracombe (Burracombe Village 5)I absolutely love the Burracombe series and 'Heir for Burracombe' doesn't disappoint. The way Lillian Harry describes the characters bring them instantly to life, as if they were dear friends. As soon as I finish a Burracombe book, I desperately anticipate, the next offering.I just hope Lillian Harry doesn't ever stop writing these truly fantastic books.

I really hope it works out for the character Maddy, she's having a tough time at the moment, although she's caught up in her own misery, and is not thinking of others, but that's what grief does to you.
I'm hoping Marianne stays in France, she's a bad one that one, I feel sorry for her son Robert, and did Baden really love her, or is she just saying that, to get what she wants, that's something we will never know!
I've read this book before, but I couldn't remember the story, so in order to read the latest book, I've had to re-read the books leading up to it.
It's a must read book, and I know that others will enjoy it

I have read all of the Burracombe series and cant wait for November when "Christmas" comes out. I live right in the area where the village of Burracombe is situated and my family business has even been mentioned in one of Lilian Harry's books. The descriptions of the area are very true to life and have given these books as gifts which have been very much appreciated. Getting to know all the characters has been wonderful and have got lost for many hours getting caught up in the lives of Burracombes inhabitants. All the Burracombe books are reccommended, you won't be diappointed.

I have read most of lilian harry's books and she never disappoints. The burracombe series is especially good, you feel as though you live in the village and all the characters are friends. 'An Heir for Burracombe' keeps you wondering right up to the end, cant wait for next book to come out
