An Adult Christ at Christmas

This slim little book is an excellent introduction/reminder of the riches in the Gospel 'Infancy' narratives of Matthew and Luke.
The writer, Raymond Brown, takes the reader beyond 'events' as such,to the profound mystery of the Incarnation (God becoming man in Jesus), relating the 'Infancy narratives to relevant parts of the Old Testament.

Not a lengthy book but very useful by a well known and respected author who gives some real aspects to think about.

Raymond Brown can always be relied upon for enlightened scholarship and in this style of publication, easy readability.
He always has a fresh and ordered perspective bringing light and colour where others have often left us with the tired same old same old.
Just the job.
Maybe every local preacher in The Methodist Church should be required to read this annually, just prior to advent.
