This book is completely standalone from the Wrecked and Ruined series, it is connected in that one character from this book features in one of the other books, but you do not need to have read the others to read this. That being said I recommend you do reasd them because they are just that bloody good!
This book is quite dark in parts, it does contain scenes of sexual abuseso if that is a trigger for you, be aware.
Erica is such a strong character, she's resilient, a survivor and I really admired her. Slate is just a God among men! I think he may be one of my favourite ever book boyfriends! He's alpha, protective, sweet and has a rocking bod! He's a freaking heavyweight champ! Drool-worthy stuff, right?
Aly Martinez is fast becoming one of my favourite authors for overprotective alpha males - my favourite kind of males! I can see her books becoming an automatic one-click for me in future. I'm obsessed with this author's books at the moment, if you haven't read her yet then get to it! You won't be disappointed!

Jam packed action

The beginning of this book hits you with a heartfelt bang. With scenes of rape it doesn't start of lightly but the journey that follows is redeeming.

A world famous fighter who doesn't like the spotlight and in between fights stays in an apartment block where he's least likely to be recognised.

A woman in hiding living in fear who would love to live a normal life but isnt able to.

A beautiful relationship is formed but the journey to bliss is a rollercoaster, theres lies, secrets, danger, bloodshed and lots of gooey moments with slate who seriously is a bbf making this a goodread.

Action packed fast paced with hea

Ok I knew what to expect when I read Amoung The Echoes description...The beginning was hard to read and dark beyond belief a worse nightmare for anyone and sad beyond belief. Made me realise that being an under cover agent isn't a job just anyone can do...rightly or wrongly Erica's horrific abuse went on too long but Aly sensitively portrayed how she was saved and supported. This was a good storyline which packed a punch, I wanted to see Erica escape her past and move on and thankfully she was saved and rebuilt...I do love a good hero and my expectations were fulfilled. I look forward to further books in this series, thanks Aly this may not have been to everyone's taste but to write a book like this takes some grit and determination :-)

The start of this book is truly heartbreaking, it's violent and brutal so be warned. At the heart of the story is love, it's a story of platonic love between Leo and Erica and of the passionate love between Riley and Slate. When Slate meets Riley he is intrigued by the quiet, nervous broken woman he meets but he quickly realises that he like David will do anything to protect her. Dont be put off by the start, it is a truly beautifullly written book.

Another fantastic book in this series!! I loved it! Pretty much read it in a day. I love how all the characters have their own stories and yet still have big parts to play in all the other books. A great book by a great author! Five stars!

***5 Swooooooning Stars* Aly has becoming one of my fave authors. She creates characters that are likeable , loveable and doesn't give me headache, Everytime I finished her books, 'm feeling great and inlove , then I have the urge to read again .

The first few pages of Among the Echoes, I really wanted to back out and not read anymore, not because its bad but because the way Aly has written it made my stomach twist , squeeze and my heart was beating too fast. My imagination was overload and I felt like I was seeing front seat, it so vivid I felt I cant continue. . What happened to Erica was horrible and painful, and my soul died along with her

Here comes the redemption. fast forward 3 years . Erica aka Riley was in hiding and under witness protection program along with Leo aka Dave after that very very unfateful , unfortunate night. They kept moving and changing names , when danger is looming. No normalcy and no guaranteed future.

Enter Slate aka Adam - imagine me squeeeeeeling ok because as I can imagine Slate - gorgeous, ripped, serious but has ability to make you smile, professional successful boxer but hated the limelight. He wasn't a manwhore that beds different woman everynight, yup plus factor. He met Erica/Riley when he went to his getaway place after each fight. This story was a perfect blend of humor, romance and action. I love how Slate was so protective and so inlove with Erica/Riley even though there were secrets. Even though he sense that something wasn't right, instead he digs deeper and he fought for her. When he founds out the secret, he did not run but he loved and protected Erica/Riley twice as much.

I love Erica/Rileys' character.
