I am a lover of books, a photographer myself and a lover of all things creative. To me this collection of images holds more power and strengh than anything i have ever seen. If you own this book please show it to someone who never reads books let alone photography books and sit back and watch their reaction. Upon opening the book i feel as if i am truly opening a page on the soul of the human race. Once seen, these images will be with you for ever.

This is more than just a collection of fine photographic portraiture. It is a spellbinding trip into the other World and lives of the subjects-you feel for them, want to know more about them other than just a name and vocation. You are almost in their presence. This is through exquisite print quality and attention to detail as well as the all too apparent immediacy of the compositions. Any person can pick up this book and lose themselves amongst these people for hours. Wonderful!

I was 13 when I first saw this collection of photographs. They awakened my mind to the reality of a world different from my own. Currently, I use the pictures as writing prompts which my sophomore students use for biographical writing. The powerful pictures move the students beyond their own everyday suburban lives into a world they will otherwise never see.
