Product description

Features Elegant, Easy-to-use E-reader Lose Yourself in Your Reading The most elegant feature of a physical book is that it disappears while you're reading. Immersed in the author's world and ideas, you don't notice a book's glue, the stitching, or ink. Our top design objective is to make Kindle Keyboard 3G disappear - just like a physical book - so you can get lost in your reading, not the technology. Ergonomic Design Kindle Keyboard 3G is easy to hold and read. We designed our e-reader with long-form reading in mind. When reading for long periods of time, people naturally shift positions and often like to read with one hand. Kindle Keyboard 3G's page-turning buttons are located on both sides, allowing you to read and turn pages from any position. Simple Controls Kindle Keyboard 3G has an easy-to-use 5-way controller for on-screen navigation for highlighting text or looking up words. For searching and note-taking, Kindle Keyboard features a physical keyboard. Never Gets Hot Unlike a laptop, Kindle Keyboard 3G never gets hot so you can read comfortably as long as you like.

5.0 out of 5 stars loved it, but I broke the screen 4 May 2017
By Randolph A McCord - Published on Amazon.com
Verified Purchase
This is my 3rd. My 1st was a 1st generation, loved it, but I broke the screen. My 2nd was an "upgrade" to a Paperwhite. Bad crossover device that wished it it was a Kindle Fire. I deregistered the Paperwhite and returned to this basic model which resembled my 1st generation. Simple, practical, positive-contact buttons are superior to the touch-screen interface. I prefer the e-ink over the eye-straining illuminated screen. More natural like reading a paper book.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3rd Gen Improved over previous ones, but kept features that Amazon dropped in favor of less useful bells and whistles 27 Jun. 2015
By P. M. Whitehouse - Published on Amazon.com
This is the last version of the Kindle reader that meets my needs: 3G + Wireless; built-in keyboard (I make a lot of annotations); plays music selections (invaluable when I am traveling/flying) and reads books to me; can be easily operated with one hand; has a beautifully clear screen; and the best battery life of the line. This 3rd generation is an improvement over the second generation due to placement of paging buttons along the device edge; the menu system works well, plus the screen clarity is much improved. Only quibble is the placement of the home button too near the bottom of the device. I have extensively used a 1st generation, a 2nd generation, and a Kindle Fire, plus tried out the Voyager and other later generations. For traveling and use while waiting, this is the very best for me. It's small enough to fit in my smaller purses, and doesn't require a second hand in order to use a touch screen or to hold the additional weight of a color displays. Other versions of this 3rd generation Kindle without a keyboard may be better for others, but being able to carry my music or listen to an audible book vastly outweigh the value of later versions such as the Voyager. Amazon - wake up and support your loyal readers with a more fully featured EASY to hold and operate one-handed version. You can do it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm very happy with the new Kindle Keyboard I ordered 20 Oct. 2016
By Reed Moore - Published on Amazon.com
I'm very happy with the new Kindle Keyboard I ordered. Since this 3rd generation Kindle is an older version , it takes some effort to get it working with your Amazon account. First , make sure to give it a full , overnight charge before you try using it. Then , you will probably have to do some software updates before you can register it with your Amazon account and start ordering books. I had to do a series of 4 updates before I could register it with my Amazon account. I can't say enough good things about the Kindle Support group ... they were very patient and helped me get my new Kindle updated and registered. The Kindle is working perfectly now and I have access to all the books stored in my Amazon account.
As for the seller , my Kindle arrived sooner than expected , and is in excellent condition . I would not hesitate to order from this seller again .
All things considered , I couldn't be happier with my purchase , and am now enjoying reading again every day !

5.0 out of 5 stars I love my Kindle Keyboard more than it is natural to ... 1 May 2016
By Mainstreet - Published on Amazon.com
I love my Kindle Keyboard more than it is natural to love an inanimate object. I am technology stunted enough that I still love the keyboard, and the 4 gig storage is important to me, vs some of the newer 2 gig versions. There is nothing about it, that I am not happy with. I am so attached to it, I bought a second back up, In the event anything ever happens to this one, I will not have to upgrade. I know the new Kindle readers are more advanced, and I am confident they are also great! I love this old Kindle, and it does everything I need and want. I love to read. With my Kindle, I walk around on a regular basis, with 600 books in my coat pocket.. Life is good....
5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite 9 Dec. 2014
By Nikki W. - Published on Amazon.com
Are you kidding me? This is my favorite all time Kindle. So much so that when it somehow got bent on vacation (super disappointed there were no airport kiosks to repurchase a Kindle like there are Express Best Buy's) I was dying to find a replacement. There was no store on my cruise that I found that had another Kindle for me unless I wanted the HD. So, when I got home to look for a replacement I was so upset to learn that they no longer make the Kindle Keyboard. How can this be? Luckily, I was able to find a replacement on ebay. Not only that but one of my friends was so kind and shipped me their K3 that they no longer use. SO now I have a backup.

I love how crisp and clear the words are on this Kindle. It's so much easier to read than my previous one. Not only that but I tried the Paperwhite before heading to ebay and I didn't really like the words. They appeared fuzzy to me.

Other than my vacation issue, I never had a problem with this Kindle. I love(d) it so much.

The battery lasts weeks! It's amazing how long the battery lasts with the WiFi shutoff. Even with it on it's a decent charge. It lasts longer than I'd expect.

Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this Kindle. I love it so much.
