Great value for money
I've never had a monitor arm before, but I've been aware for a long time that my posture while sitting at my computer desk wasn't all that great - part of that being was not being able to position my monitor quite as I would like.Due to a recent injury to my neck I've decided to address a few things in my day to day life that I feel affect my back, so after researching different monitor arms I decided to go with this one after reading the good reviews and also because it was not too expensive.I set it up yesterday. The instructions aren't all that great, although when do you ever get good instructions these days? But once I worked it out it was pretty much a doddle. The build quality of the product is outstanding I would say, and it supports my 27 inch monitor no problem. I didn't really need to adjust all that much. The joints are a bit stiff out of the box, which you can adjust apparently, but I didn't bother - I just moved the monitor into place. Once I did this I just tightened the hinges with the supplied allan key so that it didn't swing about. There is a slot for cable management which I haven't used so I don't know how good or useful that is.All in all though, delighted with this product. Wish I'd bought one years ago!

This is identical to the Ergotron LX arm, which I also own. I believe Ergotron actually makes these as well. The only difference is the colour. The Amazon Basics model is painted a greyish-silver, whereas the Ergotron LX has a chrome finish and is 50% more expensive.

Setup is very quick and easy. I was able to do this without any additional help. It took me about 5 minutes to mount my monitor using the toolless clamp method. They also provide an alternative way to mount it to a grommet/hole in your desk. They include large thumbscrews to mount your monitor to the VESA plate, which is really handy. For reviews saying that it doesn't tilt, it so does! It's stiff so you need to apply a bit of force. Read the manual. Also, tools are provided for you to adjust the stiffness of the arms, neck and the tilting mechanism, so it's great that you can loosen or tighten the arms/joints to your liking. For heavier monitors you'd need to tighten the neck a bit more. It supports monitors up to 11.3kg and the arms are smooth and sturdy. I was able to attach a heavy graphics tablet display to it, a Wacom Cintiq 27QHD, and was able to bring it closer, lower, and tilt it 70 degrees upwards to draw on comfortably, it was perfect. Overall, I don’t have any gripes and I’d highly recommend it.

As far as I can tell, this is essentially a black Ergotron LX with an Amazon basics badge for over £20 less. The dimensions, weight/size limits, everything, except the colour, is exactly the same. On my desk its used next to an Ergotron MX which is a heavy duty arm without a pole mount designed for AIO PCs and larger/heavier/older monitors.

At the time of purchase the Ergotron is available on Amazon for £111.79 and this is £89.99. If you shop around you might find the Ergotron cheaper than on Amazon at a competing retailer, but I'm confident you wont find it cheaper than the AmazonBasics one which makes this a real bargain.

I used this with a HP ZR2440w (24" 16:10 ~5KG) and I didn't even have to adjust the tension settings, It was perfect right out of the box which suggests that the default position for the settings is around the middle of the min/max range. Everything is adjustable with the tools provided in the accessories package, so if you find the arm sagging or springing your monitor around there isnt anything to worry about.

Just like its bigger brother (the Ergo MX), the motion is smooth, build quality is excellent, accessories are exactly what's required to mount this either via a bolt though the desk or the clamp for the edge of the desk. I used the clamp to allow me to adjust it at a later date.
A really nice feature of the VESA plate of these monitor arms is that you can pivot the monitor 90 degrees so that the monitor is Portrait. If you haven't tried this before, I would highly recommend it for viewing documents and websites.

As this is an Ergo LX, there is a decent amount of additional accessories available such as laptop/tablet brackets, extra sections for longer reach arms (although the colour wont match) and VESA brackets that allow a mini PC or slim client to fit in-between the arm and the monitor.

I have previously used quite a few 'budget' monitor arms and have since learned my lesson. They are prone to breaking or not matching up to their specifications. Buy this and avoid any disappointment.

The bracket arm was easy to install and is very sturdy, I use it with a 27inch 7.2Kg touchscreen and when typing on the screen there is hardly any monitor movement even when the arm is fully extended. I have set the 2 tension adjusting screws about halfway thus I presume the arm would handle much heavier monitors. Positioning the monitor is effortless and the monitor nearly always stays wherever you position it, I say nearly always as my monitor doesn't stay in portrait , this is due to my vesa fixings being near the top of my monitor and thus when I turn the monitor to portrait the vesa fixings are to one side and the monitor drops one side in this portrait position, not an issue for me but I presume if the vesa fixings are central then this wouldn't be an issue. Also not every monitor position is achievable, positions are dependant on the positions of the lower and upper arms, for example I can have my monitor flat High up but as I drop the upper arm I have to tilt the screen slightly, this isn't a complaint just an observation - as the multi positions achieved with this arm far exceeds expectations, I now enjoy using the touchscreen monitor both seated and standing up. Another nice thing about this arm is just being able to push the monitor right back, lift up the arm and just enjoy the desk space I forgot I had, enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars It feels very high quality
Reviewed in Canada on 12 August 2022
Normally you expect amazonbasic branded product to not be of highest quality but this one is definitely different. It's very sturdy and easy to install. I mounted a Samsung Odyssey 32" monitor which is quite heavy and this holds it very well. The tension screws seem to be tightened out of the box so I didn't need to do anything. In fact the movement is too stiff out of the box but it's very sturdy and stable so I leave it like this.
I can now bring the screen forward by a lot and this by itself helps to not slouch forward. It's something that stock stands can not replicate and it's very nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid. Great articulation. Works well on desks with live edge
Reviewed in Canada on 12 February 2022
First off, a tip for users with dual monitors: don't buy a "dual mount"; they're very hard to configure, the "elbows" get in each others' way, etc. Instead, buy 2 single arm mounts. I bought one of these to test out, LOVED it, and bought the 2nd ASAP. Also, for users with desks with a "live edge", you'll be happy to know that the clamp is set back far enough to "bite" the flat part of your desk See my pics. You _could_ drill through your desk if you really needed to. One last thing before I get to the usual things people mention... I couldn't help but notice that this "Amazon" branded product has a an "Ergotron patent" stamped into the plate. Either this product uses the same technology as Ergotron, or it IS an Ergotron with Amazon branding. Either way, it's a SOLID arm. I have no idea what other reviewers are complaining about, but after you set up these arms, they DO. NOT. MOVE. They stay in place WAY better than my monitors did when sitting on stands. Furthermore, mine are mounted on a sit\stand desk, which goes up & down several times a day. The monitors stay still. Despite that, they are VERY manoeuvrable, and have MANY points of articulation, so you can put them in just about any position. Look at my pics, and notice how the 2 of them support mismatched monitors just fine. I've got them positioned EXACTLY where I want them, and they were very easy to get into this position. This is one of the better purchases I've made in a LONG time. I highly recommend this arm!
