Riley Tanner has a best friend, the best friend a girl could ask for. He's supportive, loyal, honest, trustworthy, kind, and thoughtful. He's also the biggest player in school. Their relationship has always been easy and affectionate, but after Riley's month long vacation, things become a little strange. She starts to look at him in ways that go way beyond the 'friend zone'. Add in her best friend's rival, and things become a whole lot more complicated.

This story focuses on Riley and Clay who have been best friends all their lives. However, after Riley takes a trip away she realises that maybe she feels more than friendship. Clay has always felt that Riley was the only 'one' for him and has been waiting for her to feel the same. There's some bumps along the way but they can't fight the connection between them. Then when all appears happy, trouble surfaces and threatens to damage their lives.
A fantastic book that keeps you hooked until the end. A beautiful, heartfelt love story between the two characters and a perfect ending. My only worry from the blurb was 'what if it takes all book for them to get together' and without giving too much away, you don't wait the whole book, so a good majority of the book focuses on their relationship. Can't wait to read more from this author.
If you want to read a book that is gonna make you feel like you're being hugged by a big warm chair, this is it. Althou you may get a bit hot around the sex scenes lol
As heroines go, Riley was actually pretty cool and mature for her age. I loved the confidence she had in herself rather than the usual too timid virgins who lay there like a stuffed toy.
Blake was sweet in the beginning, the rose phone charm and the dates he took her on were nice but his temper was scary and made me want to run away from him.
And then there's Clay...he is all kinds of hotness! I love that everyone knew he was in love with Riley and that he wasnt afraid of it or denied it in the slightest, instead just waiting until she was ready. Their relationship was so comfortable and enviable yet believable as well. I spent the majority of this book with huge smiles on my face ♥
I was hooked from the small sample I downloaded so bought it straight away.
The two main characters Clay and Riley are great kids, as are the supporting roles in this story and you just love them from the start. As a parent, I was a little thrown by opposite sex teenagers sharing a platonic bed with the approval of their parents, even if they are best friends from chldhood and next door neighbours. I would not have considered it appropriate even for my opposite sex, teenage sibling children to share a room let alone a bed, so I found that a little strange, though it makes a lovely touch here.
I have now bought the other book by this author and will definitely read more of her work. Great style of writing, lovely characters and great story telling. What more could you ask, no matter how old you are?
Buy it, I highly recommend the book, you will not be disappointed.
The story is in similar context as in two people who known each other practically all their life but never went anyway about it, so it really does entice you, as on will they won't they?
One reason I didn't give it a five star was cause of the whole Blake story line like it was like she seemed to be leading him on and they were good together until he broke her arm obviously, like he literally turned crazy suddenly, like she was going on dates with him and said not to cheat yet she did and never said anything?
All in all it is a good book! And will recommend people to read it but don't expect it to as brilliant as the boy who sneaks in my bedroom window.
Clay and Riley are life long best friends until Riley goes in a month long trip and realises she has feelings that she didn't know she had.
This book follows their story through the highs and lows of first love and high school.
Clay and Riley have captured my heart and I can't wait to read this book again.
