I loved this book. I cried, and felt Kenny's pain. I felt as if Kenny was in the room with me telling his story. The shining fact in this story is that I wholeheartedly feel Kenny is a good person and always has been. Thank you Kenny for being so honest and baring your heart and soul, and I wish you every future happiness.

A good read despite the bad spelling and grammer (this book was unedited). It did take me a while to finish the book because at times I was becoming really irritated by Kenny's outlook particularly when he was describing his adult years. I would need to take a break from reading this to enable me to finish reading. I understand some of Kenny's views however it seemed that he was drawn to or a magnet for "drama". Kenny, sometimes we cannot control how others think or behave and believe it or not, the world does not always revolve around us. I feel that part of your issue has been due to having high expectations of others in terms of how they should or shouldn't behave, feel, respond to you. If you place high expectations on others, be prepared for a possible let-down. Once you let that go, I feel that you may be able to come to terms with the past on a deeper level (I have experienced my own share of issues with family/friends, depression, breakdown of relationships and so forth too). Take care.

my name is Nina and I have just finished reading the book. having suffered depression, ptsd, pnd and anxiety I felt I could relate to what Kenny was/has gone through. Never have I been so moved by what a person has gone through. Kenny is one of the strongest people I can imagine and having got to talk to him I can truly relate to him.
Life is cruel and we have to make what we can of it. The fact that Kenny is so raw with his emotions is truly amazing. This book truly helps people to understand depression and the things we have to deal with.

Fascinating first-hand insight into a world of bullying, domestic violence, lack of communication and sheer bad luck and the effect on a child, carried through to adulthood. Kenny's story could happen to anyone. It's about circumstances that contrive to push a mind into the darkest possible places and about Kenny's inner strength that fought back.

I read it cover-to-cover in one go, finishing eventually at 3am!

Kenny, you're a star, boy.

Well I am not great at writing reviews... But for this book I will try and do my best. It has to be said this is not an easy read, but this is a book that I would recommend anyone to read and please remember it is OK to smile at the lighter moments. I cannot say how much I admire the courage of Kenny to write this book and in such an interesting style that draws you in from the start. Kenny story is so absorbing it makes you want to keep on reading no matter how difficult the subject matter becomes and how you might just want to start crying. (So hard not to on the train in and out of work) I do feel after reading the book that Kenny is someone I have known all my life and feel part of the pain for all the things he has gone through in his life. Maybe this is because I think that all of us will have experienced elements of the difficulties and tragedies that Kenny has experienced in his life. For most of us only this will be only in a small way and certainly not as often.

Myself I was bullied for quite a few years when growing for just the being a young lad from Ireland moving to the UK in the late 70's and to many of my school `friends' I was somehow responsible for all the terrible things that the IRA and others did in Northern Ireland.
I am fortunate that that it is now in the past and really the bullying just reinforced my pride in being Irish, but I know that bullying has party affected my outlook on life and at times my confidence.

In reading this excellent book I feel so happy that Kenny is in a much better place in his life and fortunate that he has allowed us into his life so we could understand what he has experienced. To show us that there is always a path ahead, that we must grasp life and look to the make the most of it.
