"Always in my Heart" is the fifth book in series and as with the others I have really enjoyed it. The reader gets to catch up old friends and me new and interesting characters. I can't wait the next book in the series.
Why this book was so good was that the author Ellie Dean brought us to Malaya where we meet the new residents of Peggy Riley's home in Cliffehaven, Sarah Fuller and her younger sister Jane where they were trying to get on with their lives under the threat of war but in their case it was not the Germans who threatened to overtake but the Japanese. As Sarah and Jane tried to understand their Father's fear which made him makes the decision that Sarah and Jane would be accompanied by their very pregnant mother Sybil and go to England to safety. They would move to Cliffehaven as the family were related to very treasured resident of Peggy's boarding house Beach View the very lovely but very hard of hearing Cordelia Finch. I loved how we got to know more of Mrs Finch as she was always an important part of the previous four books in the series and we always got brief glimpses into her past life but through the girls moving to England as a reader I soon realised what heartache Mrs Finch was carrying within her own heart though she always had space for Peggy and her colourful family and friends.
As we follow the lives of Peggy and her husband Jim and their surrounding family and friends as a reader I was constantly entertained as the couple are shown how much they are loved by all those who count their home as their own.Read more ›
