The best story here was the one about Roy Keane leaving several days of dog food out while he went away with Ireland.

Although not a Liverpool fan i used to think Aldo was a true gent and after reading this book i am now convinced i was right .Although having to play in the shadow of Ian Rush Aldo won the fans over with his goals and was up there with Rush as one of Liverpools greats. I was very disappointed when they off loaded him when Rush came back. He didn't deserve that.

A good read very down to earth stuff, really enjoyed the book. Given his goals v games ratio not sure how he has not recieved more credit. Managed to still be prolific right to the end of his career with Tranmere. Wonder how many goals he would have scored if he had been given the same opportunity at Liverpool as say Ian Rush.

A little disappointed at the lack of detail in the book. This has the feel of a book thrown together for the Christmas market. I feel Aldo befits a much more comprehensive read than this given the Reds legend he is. Reading this John bravely opens up old wounds and the mystery surrounding his untimely Liverpool departure for Real Sociedad. It is clear that Aldo should have become a much bigger kop legend but in most kopites eyes he is. Still a local legend with his radio football punditry and a man of the people. I am proud to say I attended the same school as a Liverpool legend. Still a good read.

I bought this book in hope of hearing about his time at Newport County and was a little disappointed about how little was written about it. If you are a fan of Liverpool then this is for you as it is mostly about his love for the club. There are a good few story's about his time in Spain, with Ireland and managing Tranmere Rivers so worth reading if your interested about them.

lists of favourite players. A book that was thrown together quickly to get it into the shops probably for Christmas. Aldo is, by all accounts, a popular guy and a great player, but this does him no justice whatsoever.

In my opinion Alright Aldo wouldn't go down as one of the great sports books but entertaining and readable.
worth a punt especially if you are an Ireland or Liverpool fan.
