I recently purchased this for use on my Voodoo Bantu mountain bike and for the price I am blown away with the quality of the front light. Machined aluminium with a maglite type feel and look it looks suitably rugged and manly, totally in keeping with my bike. I've tested it only once at night using the included batteries and it illuminates the roads perfectly with a focusable beam so you can either have a broad light covering a wide area or a more narrow one. It's fully detachable from the bike holder so it doubles up as a torch and unlike other reviewers, despite having ridden circa 100km with it attached to the holder, I've experienced no issues with it coming loose from the plastic grips and whilst not nearly the same quality at the actual light, it's perfectly sufficient in my opinion.

The rear light is less impressive but certainly functional, it has a stretchy rubber strap which you pull around the part of the bike you want it to grip to, in my case the pole for the saddle, and just latch it up a little nub to secure, it takes all of 10 seconds. It's plastic and rubber, comes with what I assume is a standard CR2032 battery given the size and features a couple of modes so you can get it to be a steady or flashing light.

All up, it would be worth it for the front light so just look at the rear as a bonus. I'd definitely recommend this for any mountain bike and would have paid much more.

As per title, the front light is outstanding. It's very bright, hasn't shipped any water despite several uses in the rain (there is no condensation showing on the lens) and it's mounting bracket holds it very firmly, but still allows removal in seconds: Overall it's brilliant (literally as well as figuratively).

The rear light however is a big disappointment. The light unit itself is actually pretty good, but it's mounting bracket is just rubbish. It's so flimsy as to be unfit for purpose, and will break causing the light to fall off. I've given the product 4 stars overall, as the front lamp is such outstanding value. But to be clear, you will be buying a replacement rear lamp.

I read lots of reviews on this product and similar lights before choosing this one. I must agree with some of the other comments. The front light is excellent. It's robust, made from strong materials and feels like it will last a lifetime. The light it gives off is excellent for a light in this price range and the zoom/focus beam feature is very handy when switching from the roads to rougher terrain and cycle tracks. The only bad point for me is the handlebar mount. The plastic clip that houses the torch is good and it grips the light very well whilst also giving you the freedom to remove it to keep the light safe in your pocket if you lock up and leave your bike somewhere. The fastening mechanism underneath however is not so great. It is quite narrow so will only fit older and simpler handlebars (22mm is it?) and the bit that you tighten up (no tools needed) is only a little but bigger than the hole it goes through, I would reccomment fitting it with a washer if you need to tighten it up well (which you will have to do). The tubing of my handlebars is narrower by the grips and fatter in the middle by the stem (which is where I was hoping to fit the light). Therefore it only fits on the outside of my handlebars and is in the way of my shifters. This position also means the light beam points to the right and not where I am going. There is no way to twist or pivot the light left or right, it just points straight ahead. Although this is invonvenient for me and my bike I cannot fault the light itself so I will have to live with it. Because of the restrictions of the fitting bracket I can only score this product 3 out of 5. If the bracket was better i would happily rate it 4.5 because its great value for its above average performance.

I bought these lights as my old ones had taken a bit of damage and the light holder on the handler bars had snapped. I go these new fancy bright ones.

When they arrived in the post and I tried them out they were amazing. So bright. It was unbelievable how bright they were.

But then I started to used them on my bike. My daily cycle is mostly on paths, a little on road, but thats about it. Not bumpy at all. These lights were awful. When I was cycling the vibration of the bike would switch the light through the on-flashing-off mode every so often. It wasnt fun always have to check if my front and especially back light where still on in the dark winter evenings.

After about 2 months the back light simply stopped working. No new battery, or fiddling around, would make it work. Then two months later the front light stopped working. That wouldnt switch on at all.

The only good thing that come of these lights is that my old light is able to it in the holder of this light. So it wasnt a total waste.
