A sweet romance with a sad backdrop to the story. Bonus material includes an epilogue and four recipes. I have read several of Donna Fasano’s books and really enjoyed them. Like the others, An Almost Perfect Christmas is well written and charming – there’s a reason she has sold four million books worldwide. If you like romance and you haven’t tried one of Donna’s yet, why not start here.

Christy is a hospital nurse who volunteers to help Aaron give his little girl, Izzie, the perfect Christmas at home. Izzie suffers from leukemia so Christy feels compelled to work with Aaron--a widower for the past two years--as they try to tick off every item on Izzie's Christmas list. This story tugs at the heartstrings, as one would expect, and Donna Fasano's masterful pen does it with a mixture of drama and lightheartedness that allows you to keep reading without feeling heartbroken all the time. It is a dramatic theme, after all, and the two adults seem to be living their sweet romance almost guiltily considering the tragedy unfolding. Still, the romance is what gives Christy and Aaron the strength to carry on, little Izzie being the glue that binds them together. If you're looking for a Christmas book that will stay in your memory, this one is the perfect, short read and won't disappoint. Grab a hankie and lose yourself in this heart-stopping, spell-binding Christmas tale.

It is amazing how much heart-wrenching emotion and angst was packed in this novella. I thank my lucky stars that I have never had to experience what these parents had to go through. I appreciate the joy and humor Ms. Fasano tried to weave into the story, but I personally found it hard getting past Izzie's prognosis.

Aaron Chase, Izzie's father, did every single thing he could to make his daughter's Christmas wish list come true while his own heart was breaking. He was very lucky to have Nurse Christy by his side. She was just as determined to fill Izzie's wish list for reasons of her own. The soul baring scenes between Aaron and Christy were emotional, heartfelt, and realistic. Ms. Fasano has a way of exposing her characters core through dialog and picturesque scenes that put you there by their side to share their joys, sorrows, and emotions. Izzie was a delight in her idealist romantic view of the world and it was fun seeing the Christmas lights and the season itself through her eyes.

Ms. Fasano handled this painful story with realistic compassion and did an outstanding job leaving this couple with hope for an almost perfect future, which did leave me with a smile on my face and in my heart. I don't think there are many authors who could have carried this theme through as gracefully as Ms. Fasano managed to do. I hope we get to see more of Aaron and Christy in her Ocean City Boardwalk series.

Format/Typo Issues: I found no significant issues.

** I received a ARC of this book for an upcoming blog tour**

Oh my, this book had me crying. Maybe because I had just been to a funeral this morning for a friend who passed away from cancer but this had me tearing up from the get go.

This a beautifuly told story of loss, grief and love. Despite the beginning it has a happy ending. I wouldn't consider that to be spoiler... :) you will definitely need some tissues at the ready.

Izzie is mischievous little 8 year old and Aaron her dad will do anything to give her little girl her last wishes. Christy is an oncology childrens nurse who volunteers to help make Izzies Christmas wish come true - to be a family for Christmas.

For such a short story you go through so many emotions, and it a brilliantly told story of how two grieving people are brought together buy a little girl.

I give this book 5 stars.

I started reading this book by Donna Fasano and it touched my heart because I can connect with the characters in this story.

The story is about a father, daughter, a wish list and a caring nurse. Izzie is very ill with cancer, she is an avid list maker and she has asked her father for a family Christmas with a make believe mommy as she lost her mum 2 years ago, and this is where the story starts with Aaron (the father) asking the staff at the hospital if anyone can help him give his daughter (Izzie), the family Christmas she wants. Christy (the nurse) steps forward and offers her assistance, to help Aaron help Izzie to tick off everything on her list.

I have to congratulate Donna Fasano on the compassionate way she has written this sad and beautiful love story, I read it in one sitting because I was drawn into this book. Emotion and love comes alive in these pages.
