I'd heard so much about this book and read all the reviews. I'd often tried wuittingbut then once I'm out socialising it creeps back in again. a friend was successful on this an with a new niece being born and knowing my sister would frown upon me being near I'd I was smoking, I gave the book ago. I ended up getting sick mid book so decided not to smoke from half way through and it stuck. I quickly finished the book to make sure it stayed this way and 9 weeks later I'm still not smoking nor am I tempted! I could not recommend this book enough!!! it really helps you see things properly to make sure you successfully quit. I'm tempted to try his other books too!

I had used probably the original book years ago and stopped for 8 months. I was a lot younger then, and less motivated to be fair.
Over a month in and still not smoked. I don’t even think about it much to be honest. I had a very definite mind set that I wanted to stop anyway due to inability to purchase menthol anymore. Refused to be forced into smoking normal cigs, so knew long term I was out.
The book is great, I found it quite easy, but I could remember lots from reading it years ago.
Definitely worth buying if you want to stop, even if you re-read it, or go back to it .
I also have the cutting down on alcohol, and sugar ones to read I have just bought , and a lose weight one. Can’t hurt to read them, will only come away with good points to think about I am sure.

Thirty years of smoking, and I'm done. No withdrawal, no mood swings, no weight gain.
Seriously, if you want to stop smoking but feel like there is no way out, please buy this book. It might just be the kindest thing you'll ever do for yourself. Allen Carr blasts through all of the social, cultural, and medical conditioning we receive in regards to smoking, and explains with precise logic how we've been conned into believing stopping is the hardest thing we'll ever do when in fact it is as easy as choosing not to.

I bought this as I was feeling so unfit and I am struggling with my lung capacity when running, this never happened before. I was also smoking more, feeling bad and lethargic all the time. Then a friend shared on Facebook that he had been 12 weeks quit with the other book, it made me look this up.
I chose this book because I've quit before so many times and put weight on, I smoked again thinking that I'd rather be skinny and smoke. I didn't realise you can quit and not get fat!!!
I was scared but I read the book, and followed the instructions - that's the really important part.
I was sceptical that I would be excited about quitting but I actually got very excited! It's an amazing book. I quit and I'm happy. It was so easy. Zero willpower needed! Why every GP doesn't issue this book as a cure, I do not know!

I bought this book only because my friend recommended it to me. Honestly I didn't want to quit smoking as I though I enjoyed it, but I though I would give it a go just because my friend said he quit and my boyfriend has been nagging me to quit for the last 3 years since we have been together.
I was reading this book with real scepticism as I couldn't believe that reading a book would make say bye to smoking.
I have smoked for last 9 years and in that time I have tried to quit twice, both times using patches, which were great whilst on you use them, but then once you stop using you are back to craving a cigarette- so I failed twice and felt miserable and even worse I eat my sorrows away so gained a lot of weight whilst on patches and then more after I started back again.
So I am still surprised how, but I have read the book and haven't smoked for a week. This booked has helped me so much as well as opened my eyes to why I could stop without eating more, or with any pains, or mood swings- ANYTHING. My friends and family are shocked how happy I am for somebody who has stopped smoking without any replacements.
Reading this book is the best thing I did! All you have to do whilst reading is to follow the few simple instructions!

I've got half way through this book and given up. This book basically tells you that all doctors and scientists are completely wrong and that Allen Carr is right, I'm all for arguing that scientists may have gotten some things wrong but all this book does is tell me they are wrong and then contradicts itself whilst explaining why they are wrong.
It is repetitive and a jumbled mess, there is no structure despite it having chapters. This book also tells you that unless you read this book you are pretty much guaranteed to start smoking again if you do manage to quit smoking without the use of the book.
Horrible, patronising, repetitive, contradictory

When I started reading this book little did I know that the very next day i will be a non-smoker!! I have smoked for 20 years and I couldn't imagined my daily life routine without cigarettes, especially in the morning with my coffee or after meals ... and here I'm sitting on the bench outside enjoying my favourite hazelnut cappuccino without cigarettes and not missing it!! Voila!! This book is truly amazing, it works and it helps you quit smoking very easily !
Thank you!

I found this book to be most helpful and especially enjoyed the myth busters about quitting smoking, for example weight gain. Yes of course, if you eat more, to compensate for not smoking, you will gain weight, but it’s not a given that you will. I had decided I wanted to quit, before reading the book, but it definitely helped. I have read some reviews that said the book was condescending, I did not get that at all, in fact I laughed at the absurdity of my habit. I think it depends on whether you are ready to quit or not, and if you’re doing it because you want to, not because you feel you have to, or for someone else. If it’s for the latter, the chances are you will be defensive of your habit, if it’s for the former your perception will be different. I quit 10 weeks ago after smoking for many years, I told myself I could smoke if I wanted to, but I choose not to.
