After I had recovered from this reading bout, I realised that I would have to read it again in slower time to fully appreciate it. This was well worth while, as I was able to take in and understand the complex interplay of emotions between the two lead characters - Col. Seward and Mrs Wilton. The plot was also rather different from many Regency Romances - it is not a short light-hearted romp. Also, for those who prefer their RRs to be of the Georgette Heyer type when it comes to physical relationships, you should consider that this book is fairly sexually explicit. (As are many of the modern ones - but I have read some reviews which condemn a book to a single star purely on this ground.)
Some of these types of books are made for one read and no more. However, I think this one may be brought out to read again at a future date.

Found this book very intriguing from start to finish, as an historical romance
It was very very different and subtle.
All Through the Night is so much more than your usual regency romance. It's full of depth and despair, with fleshed out and very human characters all with their own troubles. Read morePublished on 15 Nov. 2014 by Mrs A Gordon
