About the Author

Anise Eden spends most of her time tucked away in her writing nook, imagining things that aren't there. On those rare occasions when she emerges from seclusion, Anise may be spotted in coffee shops, staring at her laptop screen and silently moving her lips as she reviews bits of dialogue. She may also be found standing in the middle of grocery store aisles, jotting down plot ideas on the back of her shopping list. Although Anise claims that she's the one in charge, the characters in her head do sometimes make her laugh out loud at inappropriate moments.

I luved this book. I was so engrossed in it when I looked up when I finished it and saw it was 1 am I was astounded. I had been reading for 4 hours with out a break! The Last 5 chapters I was crying, laughing and scared to death for Cate. I am already ready for the next book. I will be on tender hooks until I see were they all go from here. The storyline was great. Sweet, tough and every thing in between. The characters have become my friends and I hated to let them go. I hope to be reading Anise`s books for a long time to come. She has a bright future ahead of her. Bravo Author Bravo. Highly recommended.

I just finished reading All the Wounds in the Shadows, book 2 in Anise Eden's The Healing Edge Series, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Eden has created a memorable group of characters. I enjoyed Cate and Ben's deepening relationship in this book as well as the twists and turns in the plot. There's also a humor in her writing that had me giggling in places (sock sliding!)

Overall,highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great book in the series! 15 Sept. 2016

Format: Paperback
Cate Duncan continues her training with the McGregor Group, a group of paranormal practitioners who use various gifts, clairvoyance, empathy, Reikki, and others, to help and heal clients. The Group, led by Ben McGregor, a former Marine, is called into the National Institutes of Health to talk to a comatose doctor who was poisoned. Cate, in conjunction with Asa, the medium, finds out that Dr. Braz Belo was working and collapsed.

He sends Cate to find something he left with a friend and the results send the Group and the members of Ben’s former Marine unit, Yankee Company on a collision course with a plot within the government itself. Cate and Ben, still trying to keep the training restrictions on food and sex, find their relationship going public and Cate still has to learn how to control her own gifts without upsetting Ben’s sense of protection.

I have to admit, I loved book 1 of this series, All The Broken Places. Anise Eden mixes psychology, medicine, and paranormal gifts beautifully and seamlessly. Ben is a great guy, former Marine (with very believable personality quirks because of his service) and Cate is wonderful as the newbie. The rest of the McGregor Group are great as well, very different from each other and easy in their interaction. The members of the NIH and Yankee Company work well, the research is there on both these organizations and it’s solid. And yes, I cried over Dr. Belo and his wife.
I knew I was loving this book when I gave up sleep to read it. I started it thinking “I’ll just get into the first chapter to see what it’s like” and ended up reading another three hours into the wee hours of the morning. I did it again with my afternoon nap, skipping it in favor of following Cate out the door, in secret, and into the city. I reluctantly put the book down until bedtime, when I tried to read a couple of minutes to get drowsy to sleep and ended up finishing the book at 4:30 a.m.

Yes, it’s that good. A good solid 5-star and I hope Anise hurries up with book 3, which is going to be titled All The Light There Is. I’m looking forward to more Cate and Ben!
