This book is about Tessa, who's Ben's sister, and Luke who is Ben's partner in the police force. They've been going out for some time, and have great chemistry between them, Luke doesn't really let Tessa into his private like. While Mia's with her, Tessa's late with her period. Mis convinces her to tell Luke, but when Tessa casually asks him if he would one day want children, he gives her a definite NO. She ends on screaming at him about keeping her out of his life, and ends her relationship with him, not telling him why. He's absolutely knocked for six, miserable and can't work out why she did it, asking Ben if he knows of any reason why. Ben tells him he needs to talk to her, but Tessa refuses to even answer his text messages. It's been a year and Tessa decides to join a dating website where she hooks up with Tyler who seems to be really nice. Her brother, Luke and her friends are not happy, and ask for his name, so they can check him out, and Tessa, gives them a false one and refuses to listen, making arrangements to meet up with him at the yearly beach BBQ. Ben asks Luke, and Reed her pal from college to keep an eye on her, as he will be out of town. Both Luke and Ben try looking him up on the police database but find absolutely nothing about him at all, such makes them very concerned. Tessa meets up with Tyler at the BBQ and they decide to go back to her place. Luke happens to get Tyler's license number, dashes off to the station and checks his details, and is stunned by what he finds. He rushes off to Tessa's hoping that is where they went, and ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. Another good read, will definitely be reading the rest in this series.

Alabama Summer Series by J Daniels
Book 1 ~ Where I Belong ~ 4 stars!!
Book 2 ~ All I Want ~ 4 stars!!
Book 3 ~ When I Fall ~ 4.5 stars!!

(I have only included the parts relating to this book)

"Love is great when you're with someone. It's better when it's reciprocated. But it effing sucks when that s**t is one-sided."

I read these books back to back so I thought that it was only fair I reviewed them all at once. J Daniels was a new author to me, I had heard a lot about the "Bama Boys" and as When I Fall was soon to be released I thought I would save them all up and read them together. I have to say it was hard to cope with all the hotness and male perfection in one dose!!

Each book centres around a different couple and bar Beth who only shows up in book 3, all the other characters are there throughout the series. Where I Belong is Ben and Mia's story, All I Want is Luke and Tessa's story and When I Fall is Reed and Beth's.

Luke and Tessa's book was more a case of not communicating, these two seriously needed their heads bashed together at times, miscommunication and trying to keep everything to themselves was no way to operate and these two were the prime example.

"But it feels raw. Luke Evans has opened up another wound inside me. And, right now, I just want to bleed out and die."

I loved Tessa's foray into internet dating, this provided for some hilarious scenes which was so needed as at times this book could get quite intense. Luke, I loved him, I really did, but sometimes I could have killed him. I felt so sorry for him at times as we are treated to his past and his present, he has lot on his shoulders and I just wished that he had shared those burdens.

I love a love/hate romance especially with a fiesty Heroine and a sexy as hell Hero and that's exactly what I got with All I Want.

Luke and Tessa did the whole casual thing till out of the blue Tessa ends it all. She realises she wants more and that Luke will never be the one to give her the White picket fence and a family.

"But people don’t change. They’ll always disappoint you, and I can’t keep holding out for someone who will never give me what I want. I need to let go of Luke, but that’s easier said than done."

Luke's life has been anything but plain sailing loosing his mum in a car accident at 15 then watching his dad fall apart and find comfort in the bottom of a bottle, he vows never to depend on or love someone the way his father did his mother.

12 months on from Where I Belong and the pain is still raw. They weren't meant to fall in love. So why does it hurt so much to see each other with someone else.

This is the kind of relationship that feels like you've been hit by a train only to get up and be run over by a bus. These two hated how much they loved each other. Luke was adamant that being apart was best for everyone involved but Tessa fought him every step of the way. Their showdowns were brilliant, neither of these two had a filter witch often ended up in angry sex at its best.

We also get to see the vulnerable side of Luke when it comes to his Dad, a relationship that is on the verge of broken. Which helped to see why Luke felt the way he did about love, the fear of becoming like his father was enough for him to push Tessa away. He believed she was better off without him, no matter how much it hurt to walk away.
