In his preface Watson wrote: `There are two things, which I have always looked upon as difficult. The one is, to make the wicked sad; the other is, to make the godly joyful.' This book is a great encouragement and yet also a challenge to consider our lives in a God centred way.
The book is an explanation of the most famous verse in the book of Romans `And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.' (chapter 8 verse 28)
Watson in under 130 pages brilliantly explains how The Best Things Work for Good to the Godly and how the Worst Things Work for Good to the Godly: including the evils of Affliction, Temptation and Sin. This book is extremely encouraging for those going through times of difficulty as well as those who are lack assurance and doubt God's plans or power in their lives.
An excellent book to read and think through in sections or to think through in the brief but thought producing paragraphs.
Well worth reading and re-reading.
