When I finally got round to, I absolutely loved it. Celebrity lifestyle and all. Somehow I missed the release of The Making of Mia, so haven't read that, but then I heard about All That Glitters and knew I couldn't miss that - especially as I was going to the book launch party ;-)
I totally loved All That Glitters too. I think the reason I liked them both so much is that the main characters are so realistic, and they're just normal people like me and you (presuming you're normal, ha). Although Ella is leading this amazing WAG lifestyle, she's just a normal girl from a normal family who happened to meet a rich, premiership football player and marry him.
I thought the novel was going to be a little predictable, but it surprised me, which was great.
I'd throughly recommend All That Glitters, and I'm totally going to get hold of The Making of Mia and read that too!
Footballers Wives was one of my favourite shows so the synopsis for this book immediately made me want to read it and I was full of hope that the book would be good, it wasn't, it was amazing. Ilana Fox is a fantastic author and I can't wait to check out her other work. However I think it'll be hard to beat this book.
Ella Aldridge marries Danny Riding and they appear to have the perfect marriage, and they do in every way apart from one, the sex. I thought both characters were great but Ella especially. Unlike a lot of chick lit characters she actually seemed to have something about her and wasn't the usual ditzy character getting herself into all sorts of accidents and trouble throughout the book. This book certainly isn't as 'chick-litty' as most chick lit books.
The rest of the characters are also a great mix and just the sort of people you could imagine seeing on Footballers Wives. I loved the character of Johnny and hated the character of Sanchez(?) something like that anyway aka the English Perez Hilton. I also loved Chastity who was another great character. Although parts of the story were obvious there were still plenty of shocks that I didn't see coming.
Ilana has a fantastic writing style and I found it so hard to put this book down that it only took me a few hours to read, always the sign of a good book. I cannot recommend this book highly enough and if you were ever a fan of Footballers Wives then you will love this book.
And soon she's plunged into the WAG-style glitz and glamour lifestyle and planning her wedding. Although it's not quite the wedding she would have planned herself, with celebrity bridesmaids instead of her cousin Stacey, but she goes along with Danny's agent Aaron's plans to make a brand out of their relationship. But things are not quite what they seem between Ella and Danny, so can they live happily ever after?...
Their relationship is soon put to the test when she meets TV presenter Johnny Cooper with whom she'll be working alongside. Despite an instant attraction to him Ella knows that nothing can come of it but that doesn't stop Johnny pursuing her and he won't take no for an answer despite the fact that Ella is married. Will she be able to resist him or will she give in to temptation?
As the title, All That Glitters, would suggest there's plenty of glitz and glamour but there's so much more going on than first meets the eye, we're soon introduced into the seedier side of the celebrity lifestyle...
I loved this book from the start and read it in just a couple of days so am already looking forward to the next book from Ilana Fox.

I have never read an Ilana Fox book before but I was intrigued by this. It seemed like it would be a light hearted read. I must admit, the cover doesn't do a lot for me. Read morePublished on 20 Oct. 2012 by The Little Bookworm
