I had never watched 1PW before this, but like many oher books on British wrestling I feel this is very well researched and the interviews tell the story very well.

I wasn't so much into the match descriptions, but even skimming over these leaves lots to read still. Well worth the money.

Really fascinating and insightful look into 1PW, the good times and the bad times. First hand accounts are fantastic, although not always truthful as people are trying to protect their own images. Its a difficult to put down and you will be amazed by the misteps this once promising promotion took.

I however cannot give this book 5 stars due to the match descriptions. Written by someone with clearly no understanding of professional wrestling they are truly embarassing to read and why James Dixon allowed such idiotic comments into his book is beyond belief. Maybe he was the only guy willing to watch all the DVDs of the shows? Or the only guy who owned the DVDs?

The reviews made the book hard going in the beginning but once I made the decision to skip these, only reading the winners of the matches I blazed through the book and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I highly recommend for anyone who knows of 1PW and anyone who doesn't. Mostly I recommend this to anyone who thinks they can be a Wrestling promoter, this book will work as a warning and a How Not To guide. Four stars just skip the moronic match reviews

So much to take in and discover. Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop. Very well put together and a great guide to 1PW's history and the reasons for everything that happened. A must read for any fan of British pro wrestling!

A thoroughly enjoyable and in depth read about arguably the biggest and most controversial promotion to spawn from the British Isles in many a year.

The content of this book is both engaging and enlightening in equal measure, shedding light on events that I myself had little knowledge of despite my support of the company at the time.

For any British wrestling fan, or wrestling fan in general for that matter, I cannot recommend this book with any higher praise, as despite being well aware of the outcome, I found myself still inexplicably routing for the company's success and feeling sorrow for their demise.

As a very much a wwe/tna fan, unsure what to expect from this book, but took the plunge and was very happy with the read, From someone who only heard of 1pw from powerslam magazine. A great history of the company, well presented with loads of wrestlers different viewpoints.
