I liked the storyline and the humour Joshua gives he never loses his funny side, even in hard situations. I really like this style open and full of surprises keeps you wrapped up in the development of the plot makes it more exciting, you don't want to stop. So have some snacks ready and enjoy a great paranormal storyline!
The only thing is that those books are very short.
Totally awesome! Great verbal and situational humor backed by awesome mage skills with elemental magic. Publisher's blurb hints at the plot, but can't give a good perspective on the interactions between supernaturals, or the magical antics. Looking forward to hearing more!

As in the other books, this story maintains a great air of humor despite the action, vampires and danger involved. Joshua has developed nicely, more independent, sure and mature than before. I enjoyed seeing him out on his own and getting a better sense of what he's like when he's not fighting to save his mom (or trying not to fight with his father.) He's evolving into a hero to die for.
The scenes are well set, and I had no trouble setting myself in the art gallery, alley, warehouse or where ever else Joshua's adventures lead. And his opponents are as fun as always--great to watch Joshua outwit them.
This is a short read and a fun one, perfect for a quick grab on a rainy night. And this works as a stand-alone as well, if one wants to get a touch of Joshua before diving into the rest of the series (which I appreciated).
In other words, if you love urban fantasy with a lot of humor during the kick-butt battles and saving the world, then I'd recommend taking a peek at this one.
This is my first read from this author and this series, I do have another sitting in my cloud that I haven't gotten to, yet. And this is what I get for tuning into the game in the third quarter.
The story was very well written, its approach was unique. For as short as it was I felt the characters were decently fleshed out. The detailing of the story-scape was spot on so I have no real complaints, I just couldn't warm up to the story itself. Hopefully my perspective will change when I read the other story.
Thank you, Ms. Waters for this opportunity.
As an independent reviewer for Romance Authors that Rock, I give it four hearts only because it was too short to get me emotionally involved in any of the characters. I can see potential for engagement, but it didn't happen here. Maybe one of the other other books. We shall see!!
