Great tablet for children, both my children have one (one 8” and one 7”) the original 8” fire tablet produced a sound fault when it was just under 2 years old but was replaced under warranty with no issues.
The parental controls are really good and you can limit the amount of time spent using certain or all apps, you can also set tasks for them to achieve, you can also limit internet access and not allow any in app purchases.
The sound and picture quality are great, perfect for playing games or streaming tv apps like sky kids.
The foam case is a brilliant idea as it makes the tablet pretty invincible however the 8” version doesn’t have a built in stand like the 7” version which makes watching the tablet much easier.
My only real gripe is the amazon kids subscription is only for one year and is then a monthly subscription if you wish to continue, however it is discounted if you have more than one tablet.
Something to take into consideration is the internal storage, personally I would recommend if you are to buy one, try and get one with a higher Internal storage capacity, you can use an sd card which can be bought pretty cheaply but some apps can’t be stored on an sd card and you can quickly fill the internal storage which slows the tablet down considerably.
Would I recommend buying one of these ? Definitely, probably the best tablet on the market for the price and the 2 year no quibble warranty is a great idea

This tablet is robust and sturdy with the cover on the battery life is good and charges reasonably quick i had the previous 7 inch amazon fire this being the kids version with the included twelve month amazon kids subscription that makes all the difference. Once you have turned it on you will be prompted to log in and create your children's accounts it was pretty simple the included kids subscription automatically activated I only needed to select ok which was great. My main gripe about tablets is installed apps and games having adverts and pop ups directing children to install more and more apps that are full of spam pop ups till the tablet is basically ruined but this having the kids subscription means there is none and no unsuitable content once child's age has been added the content tends to be perfect. There is no YouTube on the tablet this is something to keep in mind content and videos are plentiful and so are games. So if you want to have twelve months of hassle free entertainment for your child safe and easy with no worries this is ideal
