I need to take electrolytes with my diet and was tired of adding salt to all my drinks, so decided making my own tablets with this machine and empty capsules. It's obviously easier doing it this way than manually but I feel like the videos to promote this oversell it massively. First of all, you have to manually open your capsules, which takes a ton of time. This should have a function for that. Then, when you place the empty half capsules in the trays, the advert video shows you how they easily fall in the holes and are ready to be filled. Well, far from reality. Some may fall in the correct position but at least 30% won't, and you'll have to reposition manually. Then comes the moment to add the filing. I found this a bit fiddly as well. I was using salt and felt like I was losing about 1/10th in each attempt (i.e. the amount of salt wasted was 1 tbsp per each 10 tbsp correctly added to the capsules). Then same story when you try to assemble the capsules. About 30% fall in the wrong position. And when you assemble them, you need to manually pick the finalised capsules one by one from the frame, and push hard on each of them to fully close them. Some of them get stuck to the frame and then you need to be careful to pick it up and take it out without emptying it.
Definitely makes it easier than if I had to fill each of those capsules manually, but it's a big job and far from perfect with the machine as well. So really consider if you really need those capsules or if you can purchase them ready elsewhere, instead of making your own. Only buy this product if you have time and patience!

After about two hours messing around with this thing I succeeded in filling 100 capsules... to less than a third of the capacity I can by hand. The tamping tool just cannot pack it down enough. Of the four janky interchangeable plates included half of them feel obsolete and like they could just be combined into one single, more sensible thing. It makes the entire process even more frustrating than doing it manually when you have all these bits of plastic floating around that are just briefly used for one process.

The instructions for one part of this process suggests to me that the designers haven't ever used their product:

'Place the frame plate on top and pour 100pcs of the capsule caps'

'Shake the capping plate gently so that all the capsule caps fall into their places. If the capsule has fallen the wrong way around turn it by hand so all the capsule openings are facing up'

In practice what you will get is half the caps upside down or on top of other ones and it is not possible to turn them by hand as they are too firmly in the hole so it becomes necessary to use something like a screwdriver to poke them up from below. This is way more time consuming than just placing each in the hole manually... and that is way more time consuming than just filling the capsules by hand.
