I would recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of going into Musical Theatre as it spells out in no uncertain terms just what it takes to be successful. There is a wealth of detail about the day to day, or month to month, experience of working hard to get to the level required.

He doesn't shy away from the pressures, both personal and professional. Fortunately, this is tempered with anecdotes about the fun that is to be had as well. It was very interesting and unusual to hear that the men have issues about weight and appearance as much as the girls. Those of us who have been involved in the business know the huge pressure on the women, but it's important to know this affects men as well. Craig Revel Horwood is very frank about his own experience and how he deals with it.

He has been lucky in some ways in the opportunities he has been presented with, but it takes a determined professional to make the most of them. He also highlights the fact that though you may be in a West End show one week, you can just as easily be waiting tables the next.

He has also had the foresight to invest in other lines of business and property, and it is interesting to see how that has affected his life as well.

Then, of course, there are the names! Not casually and boastfully dropped in here, but given in a direct and clear-sighted way; he talks about stars as people, not icons which is wonderfully refreshing.

The book also whips you along from page to page. The personal details are as fascinating as anything else, but reported without undue drama. It's a good view of a life.

Got this yesterday and have just finished - really good read!
Not all about Strictly as there is so much more to Craig than that - but enough Strictly for the fan.
What a life this man has had - I'm not going to include spoilers in this review you will have to read it for yourself - but its a page turner that is for sure!
Nice glittery bits on the cover :)

All Balls and Glitter was a sensational read - I could'nt put it down.

What ever you thought of Craig from Strictly (acid tongued and critical) certainly portrays himself in a very different light and openly exposes his secret past. He takes us back to his childhood of rural Australia and his desperate actions to get him out of a miserable childhood. Taking the reader on a wonderful and colorful journey to how Craig became the judge we all love to hate.

It has gossip, truth, scandal, sex and love everything you want in a good Barbara Cartland !! But this is Craigs real life and is no fictional story ! A wonderful addictive read.

It appeals to everybody, and highly recommend this book its certainly not DULL DULL DULL !!

I bought this for my "Kindle", and it really is a good read, Craig tells of his early life, moving around Australia with his Australian Navy father, his teens learning to dance..tap and then ballroom, his singing career, then doing some shows in Aussie, then moving to the UK, the shows he was in, then turning to choriography, mapping out some of the finest shows in the West End. His love life gets a mention here as well, happy as well as sad. Then we get on to "Strictly" and how he is Mr Bad Guy, sadly misunderstood he is not, as portrayed nasty, he just tells competitors the truth about their dancing mistakes..and they mostly take it on the chin, and learn from their mistakes, except for the tiny minority who don't like being told the truth.
In all a very interesting book..either Paper or electronic...it is a very good read..I recommend it to you.

Am only half way through and am giving this a 3. It's a badly cobbled together story of the start of CRH life in dance. Because it's been written then stuck together it's repetitive with things referring back to the start or you get a 'more of which to come later' and by the time you get to it you've lost interest. Love CRH on Strictly but wouldn't really recommend this book.

Thoroughly enjoyed Craig's book about his life up to about five years ago. He talks about himself in a very honest and modest way and there is no impression that he is fame mad. He seems to be a romantic who is just looking for a soulmate with whom to settle down and has had his share of failed relationships. The stories about his career and particularly about "Strictly Come Dancing" are very interesting, especially to someone like me who has only become a fan of SCD in the past 18 months, having lived abroad for nine years. All in all, a very pleasant read, but don't expect excitement or scandal because it isn't there. I look at him differently now - really nice bloke who takes his work seriously.

Disappointing read from someone who I though could perhaps write a fascinating account of parts of his life, instead of which we are handed a slow and turgid wade through far too much repetitive and boring facts. Sorry Craig, I didn't even get to finish it.

I really enjoyed reading this very frank account of the authors life. He's not the person he appears to be when acting as a judge on Strictly, which is actually the reason I decided to read his book, to find out the truth. He's certainly received a lot of knock backs in his life and I admire him for his ability to pick himself up and carry on. I have to admit I found some parts of the book a bit shocking as he's certainly led a colourful life. Altogether this is a very interesting book.
