Ive been a big fan of Lex Martin from the very moment I stumbled across her book Dearest Clementine so I was super excited when I heard she was co writing this book! Leslie McAdam is a new author to me so I wasn't sure what this duo was going to bring us! They had me hooked though from the very first page! I signed up for this event without reading the blurb and I still hadn't read it before going into this book which is totally alien for me, to be honest I'm glad I did though it really gave me a surprise while I was reading!
This was a filthy, sexy, flirty, sweet yet funny rom com that you couldn't help get sucked into! I have to admit the d!ck jokes were one of my favourite things about this book!!! I'm partial to a d!ck joke or two myself so this was right up my alley! The fact that Josh could laugh about his blog and the things he got up to really endeared him to me! The humour in this book was a great element and one that really entertained me!
Josh was amazing if I'm being honest, he was the black sheep of the family but that never mattered to him because he was always there when someone needed him and was always thinking about how his actions would affect his family! The way he treated Evie was beautiful but then there were the scorching hot scenes between the two where I could nearly feel the sparks through the pages!! There was really knelt one time I felt like blattering Josh, the fact that he could t understand why Evie was upset by one of the aspects of his blog really annoyed me, other than that he was damn near perfect!
Evie was great too although there were a few times I got slightly frustrated with her character! The fact that these two characters built up a friendship first was a big plus for me, I loved seeing their relationship going through the different stages.
I wasn't a big fan of the fact that Evie changed so drastically, in the beginning of this book we are told she's boring and wears horrendous clothes, next thing we know she's this totally different person! That is one of the only real problems I had with this book! To be fair I had this idea in my head of where this story would take us and who would be the culprit but I was wrong, these authors kept us guessing for a while before actually revealing who the bad guy was, that aspect of the book was very well written and I loved trying to work it out!
I can't wait to see Drew get his a$$ handed to him by Kendall! He definitely needs brought down a leg or two but I think when we get his book he will end up winning me over!
D is for delicious. D is for divine. D is damn hawt!
“Having a gorgeous attorney might test me. But I’m always up for a good challenge.”
Josh Cartwright started a NSFW blog on a bet. His dick pic went viral and now he’s being offered a lucrative deal and, therefore, needs a lawyer to look after his best interests. The natural beauty of his prospective lawyer totally lives up to her sexy voice. He’s completely attracted to her at first sight, with her piercing gaze and bombshell figure.
“He’s my client. My very off-limits, sexy-as-hell, sweet-as-a-lollipop client.”
Evie Mills is up to her eyeballs in student debt and a mortgage. She’s desperate to land one big deal, which would fast track her to a partnership. The mysterious Josh and his scandalous blog has her nerdy, frumpy self all hot and bothered, and wondering if she’s honestly considering presenting this case to her firm’s stuffy board. When she meets her prospective client, she finds that the rest of him lives up to…the impressive part she’s already studied online!
Gah! I just ADORED this story! I loved how much Josh and Evie were attracted to each other – their initial meeting gave me butterflies – I loved Josh’s POV of it! He utterly fancied her – she stunned him with her beauty.
Evie’s internal sexy thoughts about Josh made me laugh. She’s a little tiger hiding under all those frumpy clothes and somewhat inferior complex. The sex? When they finally give in to their crazy, sizzling spark, they are SO FREAKING HOT! Totally combustible and urgent and dirty! *fans self* I just LOVED how Josh’s words and desire made her feel like a beautiful goddess.
“I want her, and I want her to know it. And for the first time in so long, I have something, someone, I really want to fight for.”
They burrow really quickly under each other’s skin, and both are willing to risk their jobs and their reputations for something insanely amazing and real. When things blow up and life becomes so complicated and messy, I was rooting for them all the way to sort themselves out and fight for what they have – a once-in-a-lifetime love.
Love this writing duo and can’t wait to read their next collaboration. Thoroughly recommend!
