Alison Donaldson is a writer and writing coach. Her speciality is helping people use writing to stimulate reflection and learning. She particularly encourages those who write to make sure their documents get a 'social life' if they want to influence other people.
In "Communities of Influence" she and her co-authors describe how a well-known UK charity brought together health professionals to learn from one another and influence policy and practice in the UK's national health service over time.
In 2003, she completed her doctorate in organisational change (with Professor Ralph Stacey, Business School, University of Hertfordshire, UK). An understanding of "emergence" has informed her work ever since.
Alison has degrees in economics (Bath 1975) and sociology (Berlin 1980), and worked for Consumers' Association and McKinsey & Company many moons ago.
She is fluent in German and spends part of the year in France.
