This collection tries to expand the universe a little and just ends up coming off as fairly confusing and bizarre in places thanks to some poor storytelling and muddy artwork. The first couple of stories are essentially the same idea we've seen before too (evil scientist tries to harvest the Aliens for his own goals) and while the last one, Colonial Marines, sets out as if it'll be a good old school space marine tale, it gets further and further away from what made Aliens cool and instead expands the universe in all the wrong ways. It's a bit Phantom Menace really.
The next two stories are not as much fun to read but still worth a go if you are an avid fan of the Aliens franchise.
Art work was okayish, however I did not really like the art work for the second tale, dealing with the use of a robot Alien to steal Royal Jelly. I suppose everyone has their own tastes.
In conclusion, I felt that more imagination could have been used with regards to the storylines, like they are in the Predator series. Hopefully, the next volume will pick up.
