Product Description

About the Author

Lewis Carroll was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, an English writer, mathematician, Anglican deacon, and photographer. Best known for his classics Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, and Jabberwocky, Carroll was also an accomplished inventor who created an early version of what is today known as Scrabble. The publication of Alice s Adventures in Wonderland in 1865 brought Carroll a certain level of fame, although he continued to supplement his income through his work as a mathematics tutor at Christ Church, Oxford College. Carroll s whimsical characters and nonsensical verse resonated with Victorian-era readers, and his books continue to be enjoyed by numerous modern societies dedicated to his promoting his works.

I was completely lost in this book, joining Alice in her wondrous adventures through Wonderland. I would recommend this book to young and old alike as it's a lovely first book and a brilliant read again and again.

I decided to read this as I've only ever read the children's adbridged versions when I was a child. I thought it was weird and some of the scenes didn't really make sense and the story didn't really have a direction but it's odd and different. I just don't understand the hype, probably a bit too much for children

I was just recently given a kindle as a birthday present and decided to start using it instead of blasting my ears out with music everyday on my way to work.
This was one of my first purchases / downloads from the kindle store and it has lived up to my expectations.
The writing was fantastic and had me hooked from the first page.
The characters are superb and you get to know everything about them - so much so it's as though they are real people.
There are plots, sub plots and all kinds of shennanigans to keep you interested from start to finish.
Very hard to put this book down and I will definitely be buying the paperback version as a way of a thank you.
Thrilling read from start to finish and I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

INFO

The world's longest poem written in the English language, entitled 'Maz'zaroth’, has now been published. Consisting of 367,000 words within 10,200 quatrains and including 137 colour illustrations it is more than just a poem. Maz’zaroth is a serious and controversial historical account of the world which suggests that mankind has not only been deliberately placed on the Earth but has over the millennia been affected by a series of extra-terrestrial intelligences, the knowledge of which has been suppressed by a number of world governments from the public domain. The author of the work remains anonymous.
Maz'zaroth re-writes the Bible in its entirety and in chronological order including the forbidden Gnostic gospels that were never included by the Church- a literary first. It shows how, within the Bible, many of the documented events actually portray a series of extra-terrestrial visitations.

This is a wonderful evocation of a young girl's dream world. But it is full of wit and clever word play and references, which would appeal perhaps more to adults than children. A classic which has effortlessly stood the test of time.

A classic piece of writing for children that has always appealed to adults, it is a book about a dream. Alice falls down a rabbit hole, meets all sorts of unlikely characters and exchanges word play and puns with them, and then wakes up. Everyone should read it once, for the experience. Why four stars? Simply because the sequel, Alice through the Looking Glass, is so much better.
This Kindle edition is well laid out.

I loved this story as a child and have the complete works of Lewis Carroll in hardback. This version was a little shorter as some of the verses have been cut. I also found that I missed the illustrations. A lovely story that every child should be familiar with. A true childhood classic.

Quite a short book but an absolute classic. Very funny and with a very clever use of language and imagery. Do not make the mistake as dismissing this as merely a children's book as there are a number of themes to be explored on the adult level.

Alice in Wonderland is a imaginative and a world of wonders. It has a strange scene after a strange scene with different people and different ideas and problems. The characters in Alice and Wonderland are imaginative and the story is fun and puzzling. Their is a great conclusion with the big sister but it could have been more imaginative then weakening up from a dream but that is the only bad thing about it. Alice in Wonderland is fun and unlike any book I've ever read.
