ALICE IS BACK!!
Reading through the other reviews there are good points, yes the crowd weren't very impressive, but hey! since when do you buy a DVD to watch the crowd!! Apart from the audience the DVD was amazing, good quality sound an vision and alice was his good old self with some excellent mix of new and old material!
Love the sword and cape thing!
Speaking as someone who was there, I was up the back though, I went to watch and listen. Watching is half the fun of alice cooper and you can get all that from the DVD, which I think the crowd stood in awe at a man who is truely a god in the heavy metal world, alice! alice! alice! alice! alice!!

I saw this show in Glasgow a few days before this gig was recorded. From memory, Alice sang better and the keyboards were less evident in Glasgow than on the DVD. However, the DVD more than amply captures the theatrics of a live Alice Cooper show.
Most of the new album is there, but so are many of the classics - School's Out, Poion, Ballad of Dwight Fry, Under My Wheels, Elected - plus a cover of My Generation.
The extras include the "Gimme" single video, which is both well-edited and funny at the end. This was previously only available on the CD single. The Song Selection is handy for letting you jump to your favourite track.
The only let down with this DVD is Alice's voice isn't always up to the same high standard. It could be the fact that this was recorded after maybe three or four consecutive shows around Britain, but whatever the reason, the memory of that Glasgow concert will always remain better than the video reminder.

Being an alice cooper fan i was thrilled at this DVD, many a time i have bought a Live video/DVD and have watched once and left it to collect dust, because without the atmosphere of a live show there is little point in watching axl rose run up and down a stage for 2 hours, or ozzy osborne banging his head up and down to a familiar tune [despite these both being exelent musicians in there own right]
however, Brutality live [among all other alice cooper live shows] really is live eye candy, with proggresion throughout the set, really one you'd want to watch aswell as listen. with an exelent set list with new and old material, and in such a good order, they run together so well,
i was pleasently surprised when i saw alice on the Monsters Of Rock tour in november 2002 when i found the set and stage antics were almost identical to that of this DVD and couldnt have hoped for anything better

After attending the show in Sheffield City Hall being treated to an outstanding performance from a rock legend, this DVD is a must for all those looking to savour the moments from the concert, this time in London. It was also a brilliant introduction to theatrical genius and the art of performance in engaging a whole arena within the concert.Alice Cooper was outstanding as were Eric Singer in particular on Drums and Ryan Roxie, guitars, who in his own right, stole the show. In the light of Alice Cooper being back in the studio already and writing the follow up 'Spiritus Rebelious' due for release around February 2001, be prepared for the Cooper show to return to these shores next year. This DVD is a worthwhile investment to see Cooper re live rock classics and also to show at 53 years of age, there is a lot more to come.I cannot wait and neither can my sons, a whole new generation of Alice Cooper fans. As the song said on the DVD 'Tallking about my Generation'and a whole lot more.

Alice Cooper has always been the original and best theatrical showman
of rock, and this live performance proves he's still number one.
Filmed in London in July 2000 Alice and his band put on a brilliant
show, plays all his classics plus newer songs from his 'Brutal Planet'
album as well as some rarities, complete with Alice's infamous
execution. However this VHS version looses a star as 2 songs played at
this show, 'My Generation' . and 'The Black
Widow' plus drum solo, are omitted from the program. Both of these
songs do appear on the DVD version so buy that if you want the full
show un-edited, otherwise this VHS is still a great watch.

A pure master at work! His age has helped him improve his performance with experience. i loved the performance of songs like caught in a dream and Under my wheels. At the age of 52 he is as energetic as a 20 year old.
I'm only 12 and since i started to get interested in Alice and told my friends about him he has been revived in my school.
Alice has taken on a new more gothic look, singing songs like brutal planet. Which appeals to people more of my age groupe.
A must for an Alice fan!

I Too Saw Alice On The Brutal Planet Tour In Newcastle & This DvD Is The Next Best Thing To A Front Row Ticket. Both The Sound & The Video Is Great. I Do Agree That They Could Have Had A Better Crowd But I Agree, Who Buys A DvD To Watch The Crowd????
This Is The Ultimate DvD For Any Billion Dollar Baby....

I was at this concert at Hammersmith Odeon and it was great, although as one reviewer mentioned the audience was very subdued which does not help the concert film. The picture and dound quality are excellent but the director has ultimatley produced a flawed film. There is way to much close up on Alices face losing the scope of the overall show, a big disapointment.
The concert itself is very good although after the introduction the new songs don't really make it apart from pick up the bones. The guillotine worked well as always and the show really takes off when Alice emerges from the 'frankenstein chamber' to treat us to some great oldies. It's hot tonight, school's out and you drive me nervous were excellent and the encore with billion dollar babies and the cover of my generation brought the show to a pulsating climax. If only he could have included my stars and hard hearted alice in the oldies section.
In summary a good first half an excellent second half spoiled by the poor camerawork. Still well worth having though!!
