If The Go Compare man is not Mr Aubergine then I'm not sat here typing a review.
There, I've said it. And I feel better for it now.
A worthy addition to any comedy collection. 5 out of 5.
If you are debating whether to buy this DVD then for Heaven's sake, don't bother. The series ended over 20 years ago and if you haven't made your mind up by now then lets face it, you probably never will.
If however, you were seeking out this DVD, because you wanted to be reminded of just how funny UK comedy could be if it made the effort, then congratulations! You have found it! Now go and buy it.
Or possibly, you are contemplating it as a gift? Well it would be a welcome addition to my Christmas list if I hadn't already bought it. So if somebody in your life values chuckles then you won't go far wrong here. etc.
The third series of Alexei Sayle's Stuff marked the end of his best work, in my opinion. After this, we have the All New Alexei Sayle Show, and Merrygoround. Both too, were good, but not in the same league. I mean, where else can you see a naked Angus Deaton, discussing gardening? Worth the asking price for that alone. In fact, Angus Deaton features a lot in this series, as does Arabella Weir and a few other familiar faces. They will be especially familiar if you watched the show when it was shown on television, as you will have seen them then.
The fat b'stard himself is still in fine flow. Indeed, you may have heard that he is touring again soon for real. So possibly we can get another series commissioned too?
The only downer on all this is when you think it was 22 years ago that this was first shown. What have you done with your life in the intervening 22 years? I mean, look at you. You are so miserable that you are sat here looking for something to cheer you up from your younger days. But they are gone. Along with VHS, Betamax and spangles. Get over it. You won't be young again. You can't go home again. Just get on with your life and stop wasting time on Amazon. You disgust me.
