The third, and possibly best, album so far. This bloke simply gets better. If you've not heard him then imagine Al Jarraeu crossed with an early soulful Lionel Richie but with a sound that is also all his own. Backed up by very strong songs, great production and superb musicianship. This guy should be an international soul megastar and I can only assume that half hearted promotional support from Motown or just the fact that he follows no particular fashion may be to blame. The whole album is strong but stand out tracks for me are Human Touch, a real contender for being an all time great "groingrinder", Golden Days has the great Jill Scott guesting (further underlining the pedigree on show here) and You're On My Mind. Share My Life and Why Would You Stay seem to be the specialist soul radio faves, both brilliant. If you are tired of X Factor mediocrity and just want to listen to real songs sung from the depths of a man's soul you could do a lot worse than venture into Kem's world. His first two albums aren't too shabby either.

KEM IS THE BEST! My best soul artist! Got all his collections. Intimacy kills it, nothing comes close to his music, instrumentals and great voice. Kem's music for me set the mark for true soul music. Highly recommended for true soul lovers; shame he doesn't get enough credit for his effort! Love his music.. keep it going KEM!

Well I must thank all the Amazon users who write these reviews as I never buy anything without reading the reviews and comments first and find them very helpful on the most part.
Felt the need to write my thoughts on this latest offering from KEM,as a avid listener to the likes of Lynden David Hall, Kenny Lattimore,Eric Benet to name but a few I was shocked to find out just how good this CD is as up until this point I had heard very little of KEM's previous stuff but even compared to what I had heard this album shines light the brightest star.....
My advise is to buy it and buy it now....other than Kindred and the family soul's new cd this has got to be the highlight of 2011 in listening terms.

We heard Kem on the Andy Peebles show, and brought his latest work straight away. This is by far the best proper soul music we have heard in years. It has melodies, great lyrics and Kem has a great voice (all the many things missing in a lot of music today)This man could be the next great soul superstar. Looking forward to hearing his earlier work. Hope that he comes to the UKIntimacy

I echo the sentiments of "Tomt". This is truly an inspirational collection of songs. I waited with anticipation for this to be released, so I could download (I've gone off CDs)it and am still waiting for it to be released on MP3 format on Amazon UK. I've had to reluctantly get it from elsewhere. Anyway, back to the music. What can I say about Kem. I have his previous 2 CDs and they are brilliant but with "Intimacy", Kem has certainly raised the bar. He's got a unique style which I hesitate to liken to anybody else but it's soulful, melodic, laid back and just truly superb! If you like Will Downing's slow suff and Leon Ware's too, you'll certainly love this. I have no stand out tracks as it would be doing a disservice to the other songs but if I had to choose one, then "if it's love" floats my boat. All said and done, perhaps a few more songs next time, eh Kem? You've still got the Kemistry!

Kem's third album "Intimacy" is a very successful follow up to the previous album "II". True to form, he sticks to a familiar formula of beautifully written soulful tracks with jazz and funk influences.

The first two tracks "When I'm Loving You" and "Can You Feel It" are very groovy soulful tracks, reminiscent of Luther Vandross at his soulful best. "Share My Life" has similarities to Lionel Richie's "Don't Wanna Lose You" and is another strong track. "Human Touch" is very jazzy and slick with soft vocals and could have been penned by Will Downing. If I am honest, "If It's Love", "On My Mind" and "Golden Days" are pleasant, but a little bland.

What I find Kem does best are the soulful heartfelt ballads and there are 3 very beautiful ones here. "Love Never Fails" with a simple yet effective arrangement, "Mother's Love" with a piano accompaniment, and the lead single and highlight of the album for me, "Why Would You Stay" with a beautifully romantic feel to it.

This third release has been a long time coming, but well worth the wait.
