Guiding Gordon was just too much for all. Leading up to the election it is evident that Gordon Brown is just not cut out for this role and is taking a toll on all concerned within the party with the election being the ultimate decider. I myself started crying at the end of this book as I felt so sad for the Party who had worked copiously with Gordon to try to get him to a better place but it was not happening. I shall certainly be reading Alastair's fiction in the future but from this diary it remains on my bookshelf along with the others and is perfect reading as it is goes above and beyond the New Labour of the noughties. It is perfect to hand down to the generations as no other diarist will embark on these years. Well done.
