I did get a little irritated by Chloe's fairly condescending attitude where she assumed things about Aiden without finding out the truth and it wasn't a case of ignorance is bliss.
It is basically a love story with some violence and quite a predictable ending but it finishes off the story well. The author has an interest in psychology so the story does cover a variety of issues.
Suitable for older readers due to content.
What a really pleasant surprise this read was. I try hard not to let any of Ms. Savage’s books escape me; however, her writing style in this book is an unexpectedly refreshing change from what she usually writes. It is a standalone which you’ll have trouble putting down, and even though it’s not nail biting or kindle bashing material like others she’s written, it’s really sweet. Curl up on the sofa with it on a rainy day, over the holidays, or when you’d like a light-hearted read. You won’t regret it!
Chloe tells her story. She doesn’t take risks, she’s overly cautious, and extremely organised, but hates her boss. Not surprising actually because he’s an absolute idiot. She likes talking to her collection of action figure dolls, too! No, she’s not mad, just set in her ways. Even though she’s fancy free, a night out with her buddies might be what she needs to get out of the rut she is in. She’s been struggling over the loss of a family member for too long, so having a drink with her bestie, Mare, seemed like a good idea. But one drink leads to another and she gets well and truly sloshed, resulting in her bumping into a ‘brick wall.’ The brick wall happens to be Mr. Sex-on-legs.
Quote. “…, so I looked away and back over my shoulder to find something distract me from my own thoughts. I saw I Brick Wall again.”
One can’t help being attracted to Aiden’s personality and physique. Tall and strapping, gorgeously tattooed in every imaginable place, he is intrigued by Chloe’s innocence. But we have one very wary young woman here who gets alarmed quite easily, so her first impression of him is a tad negative. Okay, she’s attracted to him. Who wouldn’t be?Read more ›

Loved Surviving Rain books, so was expecting something good. This was very disappointing and not much of a story. Read morePublished 18 months ago by Josie B
