I began writing at age six by plotting with my father and his friends on Superman, Batman and other action hero stories for DC Publications in New York where I grew up. My favourite New York memory is of having cocoa at Riker's at four in the morning with my father and our friend Joe Safrasian, an artist on the Daily Mirror.
I have made my living exclusively by writing and graphic design. I have written everything from commercial films, brochures and advertisements to investment advice. I recently wrote, designed and produced my own app. I have one kindle book and two print books on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.
I live with my family in downtown Toronto but try to spend as much time as possible at our second home, Fern Hill, set in the woods in Nova Scotia on a dirt road off a dirt road. My special interests are nature, British history, nineteenth century literature and modern art. I have been particularly inspired by two great British historians, E.P. Thompson and Eric Hobsbawm.
