The son of a coal miner and a caterer, Alan Devey grew up working class in the divided England of the 1980s. He now writes fiction, scripts and non-fiction and has previously published three novels - ‘Wallfloweresque’, ‘The Spirit of Nagasaki’ and ‘Kicking Asbestos’.
In 2015 Alan completed a Creative Writing MA at London's Metropolitan University. He now writes a regular blog on writing and other matters at his website alandevey.net and is a presenter for the Comes With MP3s music show on Radio Woking as well as being a committee member of London Comedy Writers. In 2017 his short comic play about hopeless activists ('Wacktivists') was performed at the Colour House Theatre.
His most recent works include a novella about cryonics and being lost called ‘You Don’t Bury Survivors’ and a collection of short stories: 'Outside The Comfort Zone - Tales From Austerity Britain'.
